Carlisle United F
Carlisle ( , ; from xcb, Caer Luel) is a city that lies within the Northern English county of Cumbria, south of the Scottish border at the confluence of the rivers Eden, Caldew and Petteril. It is the administrative centre of the City of Carlisle district which, (along with Cumbria County Council) will be replaced by Cumberland Council in April 2023. The city became an established settlement during the Roman Empire to serve forts on Hadrian's Wall. During the Middle Ages, the city was an important military stronghold due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland. Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. Daniel Richard Livesey (born 31 December 1984) is a retired English professional footballer. A defender, he made 311 appearances in the Football League, with his longest period being a ten-year spell at Carlisle United. He has also played for Bolton Wanderers, Notts County, Blackpool, Wrexham, Barrow, Salford City and ended his career at Chester. Birkenhead (; cy, Penbedw) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England; historically, it was part of Cheshire until 1974. David Haydn Raven (born 10 March 1985) is an English former footballer and current assistant manager at Warrington Town. He played as a right-back or centre-back. Career Liverpool He initially started playing in Tranmere Rovers' academy while attending Calday Grange Grammar School before joining Liverpool. Leonard James Pidgeley (born 7 February 1984) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Pidgeley was born in Twickenham, London. He initially signed up with Chelsea at the opening of the 2002–03 season, and was loaned out to Watford between September 2003 and May 2004, a deal initially intended to last for two months, but which was extended to the end of the season. His made his Watford début on 4 October 2003, coming on as a substitute in Watford's 1–0 win at Crewe Alexandra after the dismissal of Alec Chamberlain. Due to Carlo Cudicini being suspended, Pidgeley was on the bench as Chelsea won the 2005 Football League Cup Final.
