2009–10 California Golden Bears Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 California Golden Bears women's basketball team represented University of California, Berkeley in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I basketball season. The team played in the Pacific-10 Conference. Under fifth-year head coach Joanne Boyle, the Golden Bears won their first WNIT championship, claiming their first postseason championship title. Joanne Boyle
Joanne Boyle (born November 1, 1963) is the former head coach of the University of Virginia women's basketball team. Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Boyle served as the head coach of the California Golden Bears women's basketball team. Boyle played her collegiate basketball for the Duke Blue Devils basketball program. Playing career Boyle, a four-year letterwinner at Duke, graduated in 1985 with a degree in economics and obtained a Master of Science degree in health policy and administration from North Carolina in 1989. She ended her playing career ranked second at Duke in both scoring and in assists. Her 75 steals during the 1984-85 campaign remained the highest single-season total until Alana Beard broke the mark in 2000–01. The Walter A. Haas Jr. Pavilion is an indoor arena in the western United States, on the campus of the University of California in Berkeley, California. 2010 Women's National Invitation Tournament
The 2010 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) is a single-elimination tournament of 64 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2010 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. The tournament is played entirely on campus sites. The highest ranked team in each conference that did not receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament received an automatic bid to this tournament. Connie Sue Yori (born October 3, 1963) is the former head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team representing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, University of Nebraska in NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I competition. She formerly coached Loras College (a Division III (NCAA), Division III school) from 1990–92 and Creighton Bluejays#Women's basketball, Creighton from 1992–2002. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association is an association of coaches of women's basketball teams at all levels. The organization was formed in 1981, with the goal of addressing the needs of women's basketball coaches. The Washington Mystics are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C.
