2009–10 AFC Ajax Season
During the 2009–10 season, AFC Ajax participated in the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup and the UEFA Europa League. The first training took place on 22 June 2009. The traditional AFC Ajax Open Day was on Wednesday 29 July. Pre-season The first training for the 2009–10 season was held on 22 June 2009. In preparation for the new season, Ajax organized a training camp in Amsterdam at the De Toekomst Sportpark. During the pre-season, the squad from manager Martin Jol played friendly matches against Ajax Cape Town, DWV, WKE and SV Huizen before traveling to England to play one against Bristol City and play Southampton for the Ted Bates Trophy. They then returned to Amsterdam to play Atlético Madrid and Benfica in the annual Amsterdam Tournament. Maarten Stekelenburg
Maarten Stekelenburg (; born 22 September 1982) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eredivisie club Ajax. Stekelenburg began his career at Ajax, playing 282 matches over nine seasons in his first spell there and winning nine honours, including two Eredivisie titles. Robert Wielaert (, born 29 December 1978) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Career in the Netherlands (1997–2013) Wielaert was born in Emmeloord, Flevoland and made his debut in professional football with PSV Eindhoven in the 1997–98 season. Kenneth Harold Vermeer (born 10 January 1986) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati. Ismaïl Aissati (born 16 August 1988) is a Moroccan former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Utrecht to Moroccan parents, Aissati was eligible to represent either nation. Rasmus Lindgren (born 29 November 1984) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender and midfielder.
