Television In Spain
Television in Spain was introduced in 1956, when the national state-owned public service television broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) started regular analog free-to-air terrestrial black and white broadcasts. Colour transmissions started in 1972 after two years of test transmissions, with all programming transmitted in color in 1977, and colour commercials starting in 1978. TVE held a monopoly on television broadcasting until regional public channels were launched during the 1980s and commercial television started nationwide in 1990. Digital terrestrial television was launched on 30 November 2005 with analog service discontinued on 3 April 2010. Currently, television is one of the leading mass media of the country, and by 2008 was in 99.7% of households in Spain according to INE statistics. Jorge Fernández Madinabeitia
Jorge Fernández Madinabeitia (born 8 August 1972 in Alicante, Spain) is a Spanish TV presenter, model, actor and basketball player from the Basque Country. Biography Born in Alicante, Fernández was raised in the Gipuzkoan town of Mondragón/ Arrasate. Fernández is graduated in sports from the University of the Basque Country at the Basque Institute of Physical Education in Vitoria and worked as a sports teacher at the Virgen Niña school in Gasteiz. When he was 26, he joined a model academy in San Sebastián. He was also a basketball player debuting in Liga ACB with the TAU Ceramica Baskonia from Vitoria-Gasteiz in 1998. In 1999 he won the title of Mister Spain, a title he retained in 2000 since no competition was held that year; he is to date the only man who has been Mister Spain for two consecutive years. Águila Roja
''Águila Roja'' ( en, Red Eagle) is a Spanish adventure television series set in Spain during the 17th century. It was produced by Globomedia for Televisión Española and was broadcast on La 1 of Televisión Española from 2009 to 2016. It is one of the channel's most successful shows, and its rights have been sold to several countries. The aim of the show was to capitalize on the success of Televisión Española's period dramas such as ''Cuéntame cómo pasó'', ''La Señora'' or ''Amar en tiempos revueltos'', but at the same time aiming for mature audiences with a masked hero in the style of Zorro or Green Arrow as the main character. Many of the latter shows carry warnings that they are for mature audiences only. José Coronado
José María Coronado García (born 14 August 1957) is a Spanish film and television actor and former model. His performances playing (often corrupt and/or morally dubious) law enforcement officer roles have brought him some of the greatest successes of his career. Biography José María Coronado García was born in Madrid on 14 August 1957, son to a well-off family from Chamberí. He started studies in Medicine and later Law, from which he dropped out, accepting an offer to participate in a commercial shot in Menorca. Before joining the acting school of Cristina Rota, Coronado worked as model, choreographer, also opening a restaurant. ''Acusados'' is a Spanish drama television series created by Ida y Vuelta starring Blanca Portillo and José Coronado, among others. It aired from 2009 to 2010 on Telecinco. Premise Rosa Ballester (Blanca Portillo) is a judge who prosecutes the businessman Joaquín de la Torre (José Coronado) for believing him responsible for a fire in a club. Miriam Díaz-Aroca
Miriam ( he, מִרְיָם ''Mīryām'', lit. 'Rebellion') is described in the Hebrew Bible as the daughter of Amram and Jochebed, and the older sister of Moses and Aaron. She was a prophetess and first appears in the Book of Exodus. The Torah refers to her as "Miriam the Prophetess" and the Talmud names her as one of the seven major female prophets of Israel.
