2009 UNLV Rebels Football Team
The 2009 UNLV Rebels football team was the 42nd varsity football team to represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Rebels play in the Mountain West Conference and compete each season against the remaining eight members of the conference and one permanent interstate rival: Nevada. In 2009, UNLV also played non-conference games at home against Sacramento State, Oregon State and Hawaii. Mike Sanford entered his fifth and final season as UNLV's head coach and the Rebels played their home games at Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada. In November, head coach Mike Sanford was fired after five losing seasons, a 16-43 record and no bowl appearances. He won his last game as head coach against San Diego State on November 28, 2009, 28-24, with a fourth quarter comeback. 2009 Miami Hurricanes Football Team
The 2009 Miami Hurricanes football team represented the University of Miami during the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the Hurricanes' 84th season of football and 6th as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Hurricanes were led by third-year head coach Randy Shannon and played their home games at Land Shark Stadium. They finished the season 9–4 overall and 5–3 in the ACC to finish in third place in the Coastal Division. They were invited to the Champs Sports Bowl where they lost to Wisconsin, 20-14. Santa Ana College
Santa Ana College is a public community college in Santa Ana, California. History In 1915, Santa Ana Junior College opened its doors to 25 students as a department of Santa Ana High School. It was the second community college founded in Orange County, behind Fullerton College, and the fourth oldest in all of California. In 1932, a charter of Gamma Sigma Fraternity International was granted. Beta Alpha Chapter was at the school from 1932 to 1938 but anti-fraternity agitation and lack of communication with the organization in the east made the chapter dormant by 1938. The 1933 Long Beach earthquake damaged the Santa Ana High School building, prompting the campus move to North Main Street where it remained until 1947. Frank Summers (American Football)
Frank Edward Summers (born September 6, 1985) is a former American football fullback and special teamer. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at UNLV. College career Nicknamed "The Tank" due to his build and powerful running style, Summers signed with the University of California, Berkeley out of high school. After redshirting the 2004 season at California, he transferred to Laney College in Oakland, where he played in 2005 and 2006. He was a member of the JC Athletic Bureau All-American first-team in 2005. He then chose UNLV over Southern California because the Rebels offered him a chance to remain at running back while the Trojans wanted him to move to fullback. Loma Linda University Medical Center
Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) is an academic hospital in California's Inland Empire region. Opened more than 100 years ago, it has a trauma center that admits over one million patients yearly, around 900 faculty physicians and over 1,000 beds. The main tower of the center was built in 1967 and is 16 stories high. Currently, the hospital is building two new hospital towers. It is one of the tallest buildings in the Inland Empire. The Fred Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the most outstanding receiver in American college football by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. (TQCF), an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The award was created by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. in 1994. Omar Clayton
Omar A. Clayton is an American football quarterback. He played college football for the UNLV Rebels at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Early life Clayton was born on July 30, 1989 in Decatur, Illinois to parents Dameon Clayton and Kelly Bradford. He attended Normal Community High School, where he played football during his freshman year. His family then moved to Texas, where he attended Plano East Senior High School, which employed a spread offense. He returned to Illinois and Normal Community for his senior season, where he led the team from the I-formation. The Arkansas Razorbacks, also known as the Hogs, are the intercollegiate athletics teams representing the University of Arkansas, located in Fayetteville. The University of Arkansas student body voted to change the name of the school mascot (originally the Cardinals) in 1910 to the Arkansas Razorbacks after a hard-fought battle against LSU in which they were said to play like a "wild band of Razorback hogs" by former coach Hugo Bezdek. 2009 UTEP Miners Football Team
The 2009 UTEP Miners football team represented the University of Texas at El Paso in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team's head coach was Mike Price. The Ball State Cardinals football team is a college football program representing Ball State University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football.
