2009 Toppserien
The 2009 Toppserien was the twenty-third season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. Running from 13 April to 31 October 2009, it was won by Røa for the third consecutive year. As winners, Røa qualified for the Round of 32 of the 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League as the sole representative from Norway. Because Norway had dropped to ninth place in the UEFA coefficient rankings for 2010–11, the runners-up in the Toppserien could no longer enter the Qualifying Round of the Champions League, as had been the case in the previous season. Toppserien
The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. Regional leagues for women had been played before 1984, and a championship play-off had been done between the winners of Mid-Norway and Eastern-Norway in 1983 (Trondheims-Ørn beat Setskog 2-1), but this championship was considered unofficial by the Football Association of Norway. Stabæk Fotball
Stabæk Fotball is a Norwegian professional football club based in Bærum, a suburb of Oslo. It is part of the multi-sport organization Stabæk IF. Founded in 1912, the club's name is an archaic spelling of the suburban area Stabekk, from which it once originated. Lise Klaveness
Lise Klaveness (born 19 April 1981) is a Norwegian lawyer and former footballer who played 73 matches for Norway's national team between 2002 and 2011. She is currently the president of the Norwegian Football Federation. Since assuming her leadership role in March of 2022 Klaveness has advocated for change within Fifa, particularly as related to the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In response to reports of harsh labor practices which led to the deaths of thousands of migrant workers, Klaveness pushed for safe conditions and fair pay for migrant workers. Klaveness has also spoken out against Fifa's decision to allow Qatar to host the Cup, citing the country's human rights violations including anti-LGBT laws and societal oppression of women. Kristy Moore
Kristy Nicole Moore (born 28 January 1977) is an association football winger or striker who has represented both Australia and England at senior international level. She was a full-time professional player with Fulham Ladies before spending nine years in the Norwegian Toppserien with IF Fløya and Stabæk. Moore returned to Australia in December 2012, then signed for Los Angeles Strikers ahead of the 2013 season. Club career Born in Adelaide, Moore played for SASI Pirates in the Women's National Soccer League before moving to England and joining Barnet. 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League was the tenth edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held in London, England on 26 May 2011 at Craven Cottage. French side Olympique Lyon won the competition after finishing runner-up the previous year. Lyon became the first French team to win the competition. Team allocation and distribution On 14 June 2010 UEFA announced the entry list. A total of 51 teams from 43 UEFA associations will participate. Klepp IL
Klepp IL is a Norwegian sports club from the municipality of Klepp. It was founded on 1 October 1919, and has sections for football, handball and gymnastics as well as the less active sections for athletics and orienteering. Best known for their women's football team, Klepp Elite women currently play in the Toppserien, and have the distinction of being in the Norwegian top flight since its inception. Additionally, Klepp Elite have won the league in 1987 and 1989. Klepp Elite have also won the National Championship Norgesmester for Junior Girls U19 more than any other club, winning in 2008, 2011, 2016, 2018 and most recently in 2019. LSK Kvinner Fotballklubb is a Norwegian women's football club from Lillestrøm. They currently play in Toppserien, the top division of Norwegian football. The club was founded as Setskog/Høland Fotballklubb on 10 October 1989. History The club was founded in 1989 as a merger between the women's football branches of Setskog IF and Høland IL. It was known as Setskog/Høland FK and played their home games on AHF-banen in Bjørkelangen, Aurskog-Høland. Before the 2001 season the club was relocated from Bjørkelangen to Strømmen and the name was changed to Team Strømmen. IF Fløya
Idrettsforeningen Fløya is a Norwegian football club from the city of Tromsø. The club was founded on 22 June 1922 and named after the Fløya mountain which overlooks Tromsø centre. The women's team has got two third-place finishes in Toppserien, in 2004 and 2005, as its best ever achievements. On 16 December 2020, the women's team merged with Tromsø IL under the name of TIL 2020. The new name was taken into effect starting from the 2022 season.
