The 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Game was the final game of the 2009 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament and determined the National Champion for the 2008-09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The game was played on April 6, 2009 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan as the final game of the Final Four. The game was played between the South Regional Champions, No. 1-seeded North Carolina, and the Midwest Regional Champions, No. 2-seeded Michigan State. The Tar Heels defeated the Spartans 89–72. This game was a rematch of Basketbowl II of the 2008 ACC-Big Ten Challenge which was also played at Ford Field in which North Carolina also dominated Michigan State with a 98–63 victory. 2008–09 Radford Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2008–09 Radford Highlanders men's basketball team represented Radford University during the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by second-year head coach Brad Greenberg, played their home games at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Virginia as members of the Big South Conference. They finished the season 21–12, 15–3 in Big South play to finish in first place. They defeated High Point, UNC Asheville, and VMI to become champions of the Big South tournament. Andrew Tyler Hansbrough (born November 3, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. The 1994 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 64 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball.
