2009 MuchMusic Video Awards
The 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards were held in Toronto, Ontario at MuchMusic's headquarters on June 21, 2009. Along with the MuchMusic VJ's, on April 16, 2009, it was confirmed on the MuchMusic website that the Jonas Brothers would co-host the show. The show featured performances by The Black Eyed Peas, Billy Talent, Lady Gaga, Jonas Brothers, Alexisonfire, Kelly Clarkson and others. The artists with the most nominations were Nickelback and Danny Fernandes with five nominations each. Nickelback won the most awards with 3 awards. Four nominations had already been chosen by MuchMusic and one wild card nomination will be chosen which has the most votes on the MuchMusic website. 299 Queen Street West, also known as Bell Media Queen Street or Bell Media Studios, is the headquarters of the television/radio broadcast hub of Bell Canada's media unit, Bell Media located at the intersection of Queen Street West and John Street in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. K-os
Kevin Brereton (born February 20, 1972), better known by his stage name k-os (; "chaos"), is a Canadian alternative rapper, singer, songwriter and producer. His given name may also be cited as Kheaven, a spelling he later adopted. The alias "k-os", spelled with a lower case "k", was intended to be less aggressive than the pseudonyms of other rappers whose names were all upper case, such as KRS-One. It is an acronym for " Knowledge of Self", although in a later interview he said that it originally stood for "Kevin's Original Sound". k-os' music incorporates a wide variety of music genres, including rap, funk, rock, and reggae. Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian band based in Toronto and consisting of vocalist and guitarist Jay Malinowski, bass player Eon Sinclair and drummer Chuck Treece. The New Cities
The New Cities is a Canadian Juno Award and ADISQ Award nominated band originating from Trois-Rivières, Quebec, and currently based in Montreal, Quebec. The current members of The New Cities are David Brown, Christian Bergeron, Nicolas Denis, Francis Fugere, Philippe Lachance, and Julien Martre. ''Tales from the City'' is the second and final studio album by Canadian alternative rock band Mobile. It was released on October 7, 2008, in Canada. The debut single from the album, "The Killer", was released on July 1, 2008. The album was written and recorded in late 2007 and early 2008. The album's sound has some differences than '' Tomorrow Starts Today'', Mobile's debut album. The songs in this album mesh together better than the previous album, for one. In July 2007 Christian's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and some of the music in this album was inspired by that event. According to Mat the album "will show a different side of Mobile". The opening track of ''Tales from the City'', "Daylight Breaks", was actually written in 2000 and was not recorded until this album. Luke Boyd (born December 13, 1977), better known by his stage name Classified, is a Canadian rapper and record producer from Enfield, Nova Scotia. The Stills were a Canadian rock band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2000 and disbanded in 2011. History The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Tim Fletcher, guitarist Gregory Paquet, bassist Olivier Corbeil and drummer Dave Hamelin.
