The 2009 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 21st edition of the Men's Continental Volleyball Tournament, played from October 12 to October 17 at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. The winner qualified for the 2009 FIVB Men's World Grand Champions Cup in Japan. Wilfredo León
Wilfredo León Venero (born 31 July 1993) is a Cuban–Polish professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Cuba national team from 2007 to 2012, and is a current member of the Poland national team and Sir Safety Perugia. A silver medallist at the 2010 World Championship, and a two–time NORCECA Champion (2009, 2011). Considered by many as one of a kind, he led Cuba to the silver medal at the 2010 World Championship held in Italy, alongside Yoandy Leal and Robertlandy Simon. He is considered one of the leaders of the "Generation of Miracle" of Cuban volleyball and by many experts. Wilfredo León is considered one of the best volleyball players worldwide. José Miguel Cáceres
José Miguel Cáceres Gómez (born December 24, 1981, in Tamayo) is a men's volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won a bronze medal with the men's national team at the 2008 Pan American Cup in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Cáceres won the "Most Valuable Player" at the 2004 Distrito Nacional Superior Tournament in Dominican Republic, helping Bameso to win the 19th Championship, defeating Los Prados in the 7th game of the final series. Playing at the 2005 NORCECA Championship, his team finished in 4th place, and he was selected "Best spiker". At the Dominican Republic Sport Gala of 2008 Cáceres was awarded "Volleyball Player of the Year". He then played with Distrito Nacional, to help them win the 2010 season Dominican Republic Volleyball League championship. Evan Hoburg Patak (born June 23, 1984) is an American volleyball player who is a member of the United States men's national volleyball team. Playing career Youth and collegiate Patak grew up in Pleasanton, California and attended Foothill High School where he played for the school's volleyball team. He was named to the First Team All-East Bay Athletic League three times, earning the title of Most Valuable Player in his senior year. He also played club volleyball for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club. Following graduation, Patak enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara and played for the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. After redshirting in 2003, he went on to play 4 seasons with the Gauchos and was named the 2004 AVCA Newcomer of the Year and a three-time All American. He also led the nation in kills in 2005. Robertlandy Simón Aties (born 11 June 1987) is a Cuban volleyball player, a member of Cuba men's national volleyball team from 2005–2010 and from 2019 to present day and also Italian club Cucine Lube Civitanova, 2009 NORCECA Champion, silver medalist of the 2010 World Championship, double South Korean Champion (2015, 2016). The NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation ( NORCECA).
