2009 IRB Nations Cup
The 2009 IRB Nations Cup was the fourth edition of the international rugby union tournament, a competition created by the International Rugby Board. It pits the "A" Teams of the stronger (Tier 1) rugby nations (France A, Italy A and Scotland A) against some of the Tier 2 and 3 nations (Romania, Russia and Uruguay). For the third consecutive year the event was held in Bucharest, Romania. Emerging Springboks did not return to defend their title. Scotland A were the overall winners of the tournament. The competition format was a modified round-robin whereby each team played 3 of the other 5 teams. The competition was played over three match days, with three matches played consecutively on each day. Rob Dewey
Rob Dewey (born 19 October 1983) is a Scottish former rugby union player and played for the Glasgow Warriors. Despite having only come onto the professional rugby scene in the 2005–06 season, a lethal combination of pace and power gave him a name amongst the Scottish rugby community. Club career Dewey first made his name in the amateur game in Scotland. He was the Scottish Premiership Division One joint top try scorer for the 2004–05 season while playing for Heriot's with 16 tries, and made four appearances (including two starts) for Edinburgh Rugby. This form earned him a professional contract with Edinburgh who signed him ahead of the 2005–06 season. He scored eight tries in just 11 games in his first year of regular professional rugby union. Unfortunately, he suffered two dislocated shoulders in the same season, and so was unable to build on this tally. John Lacey (rugby Union Referee)
John Lacey is a former Ireland A and Ireland Sevens rugby union international and current rugby union referee. As a player, Lacey spent most of career with Shannon in the All-Ireland League. He also represented Munster. As an international referee he has taken charge of matches in the Six Nations Championship, the Rugby Championship and the Rugby World Cup. He also refereed the 2013 Pro12 Grand Final and the 2015–16 and 2016–17 European Rugby Challenge Cup finals. Lionel Mazars (born 26 June 1984 in Toulouse, France) is a French rugby union footballer. He mainly plays at inside and outside centre.
