Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, and Texas. Due to most of the conference's football-playing members leaving the WAC for other affiliations, the conference discontinued football as a sponsored sport after the 2012–13 season and left the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A). The WAC thus became the first Division I conference to drop football since the Big West in 2000. The WAC then added men's soccer and became one of the NCAA's eleven Division I non-football conferences. The WAC underwent a major expansion on July 1, 2021, with four schools joining. The 2009 Nevada Wolf Pack football team represented the University of Nevada, Reno in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Nevada competed as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Wolf Pack were led by Chris Ault in his 25th overall and 6th straight season since taking over as head coach for the third time in 2004. They played their home games at Mackay Stadium. Kibbie Dome
The William H. Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center (commonly known as the Kibbie Dome) is a multi-purpose indoor athletic stadium in the northwest United States, on the campus of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. It is the home of the Idaho Vandals of the Big Sky Conference for four sports (football, tennis, indoor track and field, soccer). Basketball was played in the venue until the autumn 2021 opening of the adjacent Idaho Central Credit Union Arena (ICCU Arena). The Kibbie Dome opened as an outdoor concrete football stadium in October 1971, built on the same site of the demolished wooden Neale Stadium. The 2009 Idaho Vandals American football team represented the University of Idaho during the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Vandals, led by third-year head coach Robb Akey, were members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and played their home games at the Kibbie Dome, an indoor facility on campus in Moscow, Idaho. By winning seven games, the Vandals achieved a winning record for the first time since 1999 and were bowl eligible for the first time since 1998. The Fresno State–Hawaii football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Ruston is a small city and the parish seat of Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is the largest city in the Eastern Ark-La-Tex region.
