2009 Euro Beach Soccer League
The 2009 Euro Beach Soccer League, was the twelfth edition of the Euro Beach Soccer League (EBSL), the premier beach soccer competition contested between European men's national teams, occurring annually since its establishment in 1998. The league was organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) between July 10 and August 23, 2009. In 2009, BSWW introduced major changes to the EBSL. This included the reintroduction of Divisions A and B to the league, and making the Superfinal a Division A only event; the opportunity for Division B teams to qualify for the Superfinal was replaced with having the nations of the second division aim to qualify for a new additional post season event instead, the ''Promotion Final'', in which nations would compete to try and earn promotion to Division A, as well as other changes explained later. The 2008 Euro Beach Soccer League, was the eleventh edition of the Euro Beach Soccer League (EBSL), the premier beach soccer competition contested between European men's national teams, occurring annually since its establishment in 1998. The league was organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) between June 20 and August 24, 2008. Unprecedented organisational changes had to be made to the EBSL in 2008 leading to a drastically shorter season than usual – just two regular season stages were scheduled due to a clash of dates with the arrangements of the 2008 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, the first edition to take place in Europe. As a result of the shorter season, BSWW also abandoned the concept of Divisions A and B, opting to have the teams compete in one collective division regardless of ability. Lignano Sabbiadoro
Lignano Sabbiadoro (; fur, Lignan) is a town and comune within the province of Udine, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy. It is one of the main summer resorts in northern Italy and on the Adriatic Sea coast. History Lignano Sabbiadoro developed in the early 20th century starting from some private hospitality resorts, which at the beginning could be reached only by sea. Alexey Makarov
Aleksey Sergeyevich Makarov (russian: Алексей Сергеевич Макаров; born 20 August 1987) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as a forward. Career Makarov began his professional beach soccer team in the FC Strogino club. For a short period he played for FC Delta Saratov in 2010, but then switched to Lokomotive Moscow where he has been playing since 2010. His first coach was Aleksey Grishin. Makarov debuted for the national team in the qualifying rounds of the 2007 Euro Beach Soccer League. Makarov played for Lokomotive from 2010 to 2018. He switched to Spartak Moscow in 2018. On his debut game within the new club at the Moscow Indoor Championships on 4 March 2018 Makarov also shot his first goal against Strogino. Ilya Leonov
Ilya Yuryevich Leonov (russian: Илья Юрьевич Леонов; born 21 December 1979 in Moscow) is a retired Russian beach soccer and former futsal player. From 2010 to 2018, he played for Lokomotiv Moscow, where for a time he served both as player and coach. After his retirement as a player he is coaching the Russia women's national beach soccer team, winning with them two Euro Beach Soccer Cups in a row, and continues coaching Lokomotiv Moscow. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Career Leonov made his first steps into football in the school "Timiryazevets". He debuted in professional sports for Sportakademklub Moscow. Egor Mikhailovich Shaykov (russian: Егор Михайлович Шайков; born 23 June 1980) is a former Russian association football and beach soccer player who was active as forward. Shaykov started his career in association football, his best results coming from the period where he played for FC Arsenal Tula. Since 2005, he played for beach soccer teams, his best results coming for BSC Lokomotiv Moscow, where he played from 2010 until his retirement in 2018. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Paolo Palmacci
Paolo Palmacci (born 17 May 1984), is an Italian beach soccer player who plays as a midfielder, having originally started as a forward. He has appeared at eight editions of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup representing the Italy national team, earning a silver medal on two occasions (2008 and 2019), and, as of 2019, is the most-capped Italian player ever. Career Palmacci began playing football aged 6. He originally pursued association football, making appearances in both Serie D and Serie C1. Vila Real De Santo António
Vila Real de Santo António (, often run together as ) is a city, civil parish, and municipality in the Algarve, Portugal. The population in 2011 was 19,156, in an area of 61.25 km2. It is one of the few municipalities in Portugal without territorial continuity: its territory comprises two parts, with the municipal seat located in the eastern part.
