Providencia, Chile
Providencia (, Spanish: "providence") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Part of Greater Santiago, it is bordered by the communes of Santiago to the west, Recoleta to the northwest, Las Condes and Vitacura to the northeast, La Reina to the east, and Ñuñoa to the south. It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile. Providencia is home to a large upper middle to upper-class population and it holds the region's highest percentage of population over 60 (22%). Mariano Rubén Puerta (; born 19 September 1978) is an Argentine former professional tennis player. He reached a career-high ATP world No. 9 singles ranking in August 2005. His career highlight of reaching the final of the French Open in 2005 was marred by testing positive for the banned substance etilefrine in a drugs test directly after the French Open final, for which he received an eight-year doping ban. Tennis career Puerta made his debut on the ATP Tour in 1997, and turned professional in 1998. He won his first ATP title in 1998 in Palermo, Italy. Mariano Zabaleta (born 28 February 1978) is a retired professional male tennis player from Argentina. He had an unusual but effective service motion. Alejandro Fabbri (born 27 October 1982) is an Argentine tennis coach and former professional tennis player. Fabbri was born in Rufino, Santa Fe, Rufino, a small city in Santa Fe, where he grew up playing in the same age group as Guillermo Coria, also a native of Rufino. Turning professional in 2001, he reached a career high singles ranking of 328 in the world, which he attained in 2004. He made his only ATP Tour main draw in 2007 at the Croatia Open, Croatia Open Umag, partnering Carlos Berlocq to the quarter-finals of the doubles. Gastón Norberto Gaudio (; born 9 December 1978) is an Argentine retired tennis player. He won eight singles titles and achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 5 in April 2005. Gaudio's most significant title win came at the 2004 French Open, the last French Open before the Rafael Nadal era, when he defeated fellow Argentine Guillermo Coria in five sets in the final.
