2009 BCR Open Romania
The 2009 BCR Open Romania was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 17th edition of the event known that year as the BCR Open Romania, and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2009 ATP World Tour. ATP World Tour 250 Series
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020 ATP Tour, 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. Andreas Seppi
Andreas Seppi (born 21 February 1984) is an Italian former professional tennis player. He reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 18 on 28 January 2013. He became the first Italian to win a title on all three surfaces. Tennis career 2001–2003: Professional and ATP debut Seppi turned pro in 2001, playing exclusively on the ATP Futures and ATP Challenger Series circuit for three seasons. He won his first Futures event in 2003, in Munich, Germany, defeating Lars Uebel. Romanian Open
The Romanian Open (also known as the BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy) was a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP Tour. It was held annually in Bucharest, Romania, since 1993. Its name is taken from Romania's famous tennis players Ilie Năstase and Ion Țiriac. The tournament never saw a Romanian winner in singles (though the 2005 edition saw two Romanian players reaching the semifinals, and the 2007 edition saw Victor Hănescu reach the finals), but a Romanian pair (Andrei Pavel and Gabriel Trifu) took home the doubles title in 1998. Also, Horia Tecău took three consecutive doubles titles at the tournament (2012, 2013 & 2014), each time with a different partner. Jean-Julien Rojer
Jean-Julien Rojer (; ; born 25 August 1981) is a Dutch professional tennis player from Curaçao, who specialises in doubles. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 3 in November 2015. He is a four-time Grand Slam champion, having won 2015 Wimbledon and 2017 US Open with Horia Tecău, the 2022 French Open with Marcelo Arévalo in men's doubles, as well as the 2014 French Open in mixed doubles alongside Anna-Lena Grönefeld. By winning the 2022 French Open, Rojer became the oldest major men's doubles champion in the Open Era.
