National Indoor Arena
Arena Birmingham (known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Arena Birmingham, and previously as The Barclaycard Arena and originally as the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor arena and sporting venue in central Birmingham, United Kingdom. It is owned by parent company the NEC Group. When it was opened in 1991, it was the largest indoor arena in the UK. The arena was renamed Utilita Arena Birmingham on 15 April 2020. The arena is located alongside the Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line's Old Turn Junction and opposite the National Sea Life Centre in Brindleyplace. The building straddles the main Birmingham to Wolverhampton Intercity railway line (originally the Stour Valley Line), but does not have a station of its own. Hwang Ji-man
Hwang Ji-man ( Hangul: 황지만; ; born 8 July 1984) is a badminton player from South Korea. Career Hwang started playing badminton when he was in Miryang elementary school, and when he was 17, Hwang was chosen to represented the National Junior team. Hwang played at the 2007 BWF World Championships in men's doubles with Lee Jae-jin. They were seeded 10 and were defeated in the third round by Candra Wijaya and Tony Gunawan, 21–17, 21–16. In Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, Hwang and his partner Lee won their first bronze medal after upsetting Choong Tan Fook/ Lee Wan Wah in the first round, Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda in the quarter-final, but defeated by Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of China in the semifinal. Ko Sung-hyun
Ko Sung-hyun (Hangul: 고성현; ; born 21 May 1987) is a South Korean badminton player affiliated with Gimcheon City Hall. He is a former world number 1 both in the men's and mixed doubles. Ko is a BWF World Champion, two time Badminton Asian Champion, and Asian Games gold medalist. Ko started to get the attention of the World and Korean badminton when he won the bronze medal at the 2010 World Championships partnered with Ha Jung-eun. Competed in the men's doubles with Yoo Yeon-seong, Ko have achieved several milestones, including won the silver medals at the 2009 Asian and 2011 World Championships, reached a career high as world number 2 at the BWF world ranking. Yu Yang (; born 7 April 1986) is a retired Chinese badminton player specializing in doubles. She is an Olympic Games gold medalist, three time World Champion and four time Asian Champion. Yu was part of the China winning team in four Sudirman Cup, three Uber Cup, two Asian Games, and in a Asia Team Championships. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. He Hanbin (; born 10 January 1986) is a retired badminton player from China. Career A doubles specialist, He won men's doubles at the Austrian International tourney with Guo Zhendong in 2007. Zhao Yunlei
Zhao Yunlei (born 25 August 1986) is a mixed and women's doubles badminton player from China. She graduated with a BA from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She is the first and only badminton player to have ever won two gold medals in the same Olympic edition, winning in both the mixed and women's doubles categories in 2012.
