The 2008–09 Scottish League Cup was the 63rd season of the Scotland's second most prestigious association football, football knockout competition, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-operative Insurance Cup. Celtic F.C., Celtic won the cup beating Rangers F.C., Rangers 2–0 after extra time thanks to a goal from Darren O'Dea and an Aiden McGeady penalty. Balmoor (also known as Balmoor Stadium) is an association football ground in the Scottish town of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. It is home to Peterhead. Andrew Robert Kirk (born 29 May 1979) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer and the current manager of Brechin City, in the Highland League. Kirk played for Glentoran, Heart of Midlothian, Boston United, Northampton Town, Yeovil Town, Dunfermline Athletic and Alloa Athletic. He was also capped by Northern Ireland. Nick Phinn (footballer)
Nick Phinn (born 14 October 1988) is a Scottish footballer who was most recently playing amateur football for Colville Park A.F.C. in Motherwell. Phinn started his career with Scottish Premier League club Dunfermline Athletic, making his debut in 2005. The club were relegated to the Scottish First Division in 2006, then in season 2010-2011 they won the league earning promotion back to the top-flight. He subsequently had short spells at Stenhousemuir and Stranraer before joining the Sons in early 2013. His time with the Sons has been plagued by injury and he has not managed to start a league game since April 2013. Despite this he was rewarded with a new deal in August of that year.
