The 2008–09 Macedonian Football Cup was the 17th season of Macedonia's football knockout competition. FK Rabotnichki defended their title, having won their second title. Competition calendar First round The draw was held on 21 June 2008 in Skopje. FK Rabotnichki ( mk, ФК Работнички) or more commonly Rabotnički (old transliteration) and Rabotnicki is a football club that plays at the Toshe Proeski Arena in Skopje, North Macedonia. They currently compete in the Macedonian First League. History FK Rabotnichki was founded in 1937 as SK Radnički Skoplje. It is widely regarded as the ‘railway football club’. It started competing in the 1938–39 Second League of the Skoplje Football Subassociation which finished 4th out of 5 teams. However the next season Radnički won the league with no defeats among 6 teams and with a goal difference of 45–6, thus earning promotion to the First League of the Skoplje Football Subassociation. However the 1940–41 season of the First League of the Skoplje Football Subassociation was interrupted by the start of the Second World War. FK Belasica ( mk, ФК Беласица) is a football club based in the city of Strumica, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian Second League. History The club was founded on 22 April 1922 at the cafe of Tašo Todorov, where fifty initiators gathered at the founding meeting for the football club Belasica Strumica. According to documents, the first meeting was held on 13 August 1922 with Gjorgi Moskov elected president, Tomi Kujundziev as secretary and Rosto Perov as treasurer.The first match played in club history was against Pobeda from Skopje, where Belasica lost by the score of 1–0. FK 11 Oktomvri ( mk, ФК 11 Октомври) is a football club from Prilep, North Macedonia. They recently played in the Macedonian Third League. History The club was founded in 1951. In the 2010–11 season, they won the Macedonian Second League title with manager Nikolce Zdravevski and were promoted to the Macedonian First League for the first time in club history. KF Renova ( mk, ФК Ренова) is a football club based in the village of Džepčište, Tetovo Municipality, North Macedonia. They recently competed in the Macedonian First League. History FK Renova was founded in 2003 but was derived from the football school established in 2000. As a result of successful work in 2003, the people from Džepčište began to invest in this school of football. Since then, the football school was named Renova, after the Džepčište based manufacturing company, which invested the most to the club. Renova then merged with the Tetovo club FK Shkumbini and was initiated into the Macedonian Third League. In the club's first season, they came first in the league. FK Sloga Jugomagnat ( mk, ФК Слога Југомагнат) was a football club that played in Skopje, North Macedonia. FK Lokomotiva Skopje ( mk, ФК Локомотива Скопје) is a football club based in the Karpoš neighborhood of Skopje, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian Second League. History The club was founded in 1954, as the railway club, therefore it was sometimes called ŽFK Lokomotiva.
