2008–09 ISU Speed Skating World Cup – Women's Team Pursuit
The women's team pursuit in the 2008–09 ISU Speed Skating World Cup was contested over three races on three occasions, out of a total of nine World Cup occasions for the season, with the first occasion taking place in Berlin, Germany, on 7–9 November 2008, and the last occasion involving the event taking place in Erfurt, Germany, on 30 January – 1 February 2009. The Czech Republic won the cup, while the United States came second, and the Netherlands came third. The defending champions, Canada, ended up in eighth place. The 2008–09 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, officially the ''Essent ISU World Cup Speed Skating 2008–2009'', was a series of international speed skating competitions which ran the entire season. Marrit Leenstra (speed Skater)
Marrit Leenstra (; born 10 May 1989) is a Dutch former long track speed skater. Skating career In the 2007 season she made her World Cup debut in Moscow. In the 2008 season she skated a junior world record in the 1500 meters at the World Cup in Salt Lake City. Later this season she qualified for the European Championships and ranked 6th after all four distances. With this result she qualified for the World Allround. At the World Allround Championships in Berlin she placed 12th after four distances. In February 2008, Leenstra was crowned the World Junior Speed Skating Champion in Changchun, China. At the end of the season in March 2008 she improved the junior world records on the 1000 and 1500 meters and the mini combination. The latter two are still current junior world records. Katarzyna Bachleda-Curuś
Katarzyna Anna Bachleda-Curuś (née Wójcicka, born 1 January 1980) is a Polish speed skater, who was born in Sanok and resides in Zakopane. Wójcicka is specialised in allround championships as she performs well on all distances, but almost never finishes among the best on a single distance. In Poland she is however one of the best skaters they ever had and she already won fifteen national titles. In 2005, she made a lot of progression and became twelfth at the European Allround Championships and fourteenth at the World Allround Championships. She competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics, finishing tenth at the 3000 metres, eighth at the 1000 metres, eleventh at the 1500 metres and sixteenth at the 5000 metres. Natalia Czerwonka
Natalia Barbara Czerwonka (born 20 October 1988) is a Polish long track speed skater who participates in international competitions. In 2010, she was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Olympic Games At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, she was a reserve when the Poland team won a bronze medal in the women's team pursuit. Czerwonka did not receive a medal because she did not participate in any heat, unlike Katarzyna Woźniak, Luiza Złotkowska and Katarzyna Bachleda-Curuś. Yekaterina Vladimirovna Shikhova (russian: Екатерина Владимировна Шихова; born 25 June 1985) is a Russian Speed skating, speed skater. She won a team bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and an individual allround bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. Martina Sáblíková () (born 27 May 1987) is a Czech speed skater, specializing in long track speed skating. She is an Olympic gold medal winner and a multiple European and World allround champion. She became the first Czech to win two Olympic gold medals at one Winter Games in 2010. Karolína Erbanová
Karolína Erbanová (; born 27 October 1992) is a Czech ice hockey player and retired long-track speed skater. She won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the 500 m event in speed skating. She is a member of the Czech national ice hockey team and is signed with HPK Kiekkonaiset in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) for the 2022–23 season. Brittany Schussler (born April 21, 1985) is a Canadian retired speed skater. She was a member of the national speed skating team from 2002 to 2014. Schussler's best individual performance was placing sixth in the 1500 metres at the World Championships in 2008 and she is a three times bronze medallist at the National Single Distance Championships.
