The 2008–09 season was Blackpool F.C.'s 101st season (98th consecutive) in the English Football League, Football League. It was also their second consecutive season in the EFL Championship, Championship, the second tier of Football in England, English football. They finished sixteenth. D. J. Campbell, on loan from Leicester City F.C., Leicester City, was the club's top scorer, with nine goals overall. Simon Grayson resigned as manager on 23 December, to become the new manager of Leeds United A.F.C., Leeds United. Blackpool F
Blackpool is a seaside resort in Lancashire, England. Located on the northwest coast of England, it is the main settlement within the borough also called Blackpool. The town is by the Irish Sea, between the Ribble and Wyre rivers, and is north of Liverpool and northwest of Manchester. At the 2011 census, the unitary authority of Blackpool had an estimated population of 139,720 while the urban settlement had a population of 147,663, making it the most populous settlement in Lancashire, and the fifth-most populous in North West England after Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton and Warrington. Roy O'Donovan
Roy Simon O'Donovan (born 10 August 1985) is an Irish-Australian professional footballer who played as a striker for National Premier Leagues NSW side the Sydney Olympic FC. He has been capped by Ireland at Under-19, Under-21 and B level. Ian Evatt
Ian Ross Evatt (born 19 November 1981) is an English professional football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Bolton Wanderers. Evatt began his career as a central midfielder, but was later converted to a central defender. He began his professional career in 1999 at Derby County, and he also played for Northampton Town (on loan), Chesterfield (in two spells), Queens Park Rangers and Blackpool. Marlon Charles Broomes (born 28 November 1977) is an English former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, centre-back from 1994 to 2012. Stephen Crainey
Stephen Daniel Crainey (born 22 June 1981) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He is currently U21 manager for Wigan Athletic. A left back, he made 319 appearances in the Premier League and Football League, including 214 for Blackpool. Daniel John Coid (born 3 October 1981) is an English former professional footballer. Career Blackpool Born in Liverpool, Merseyside, Coid started his career with Blackpool in 1995 as 14-year-old .
