The 2008–09 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2008–09 college basketball season. This was head coach Dave Rose (basketball coach), Dave Rose's fourth season at BYU. The Cougars competed in the 2008–09 MWC men's basketball season, Mountain West Conference and played their home games at the Marriott Center. Dave Rose (basketball)
David Jack Rose (born December 19, 1957) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach of Brigham Young University's (BYU) men's basketball team. A graduate of Northbrook High School in Houston, Texas, Rose played two years at Dixie College in St. George, Utah, later becoming coach at the school. Rose then became co-captain of " Phi Slama Jama," the University of Houston's college basketball squad featuring Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon that finished as national runner-up in the 1983 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Career Dave Rose was named the head basketball coach at BYU in 2005, replacing Steve Cleveland and began the first of eleven straight 20-win seasons in 2005-06. Jackson Emery
Jackson Emery (born June 22, 1987) is a former American basketball player who played for the BYU Cougars men's basketball team. Emery was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Alpine, Utah. He earned several accolades for his basketball performance in high school, leading his team to a state championship and being named Utah Mr. Basketball in 2005. Emery was recruited by nine schools for collegiate play and elected to attend Brigham Young University, which is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which he is a member. After his freshman year, he took a two-year hiatus to serve an LDS mission in Mexico, then returned to BYU. Emery is married, and finished his senior year serving as co-captain of the team alongside Jimmer Fredette and Logan Magnusson. Glens Falls, New York
Glens Falls is a city in Warren County, New York, United States and is the central city of the Glens Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 14,700 at the 2010 census. Jimmer Fredette
James Taft "Jimmer" Fredette (born February 25, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He last played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. Fredette was the 2011 National Player of the Year in college basketball after ranking as the leading scorer in all of NCAA Division I during his senior season for the BYU Cougars. He was subsequently selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, but only played limited minutes across four teams over five NBA seasons. He spent the majority of the 2015–16 season in the NBA Development League, during which he won the All-Star Game MVP. In 2016, Fredette joined the CBA's Shanghai Sharks, and during the 2016–17 CBA season, he led the league in scoring, at 37.6 points per game, counting all phases of the season (although Errick McCollum was the league's scoring champion, as only regular season stats count toward that award). Lee Cummard
Lee Cummard (born March 31, 1985) is a former American college basketball player and current BYU basketball assistant coach. Lee Cummard was a standout guard at Brigham Young University from 2005 to 2009, appearing in all 131 games BYU played during his four seasons in Provo. Cummard went undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft and after a brief stint with the NBA D-League played professional overseas in France, Japan and Belgium. From 2012–2016 season, he was a starter for the Okapi Aalstar in Belgium, helping his club to the Belgium Cup semifinals four times and finishing as runner-up in 2013. In 2016 he joined the coaching staff at BYU as a graduate assistant. In 2018, he was hired as an assistant coach at BYU. Page, Arizona
Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 7,247. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall.
