Italian Television
Television in Italy was introduced in 1939, when the first experimental broadcasts began. However, this lasted for a very short time: when fascist Italy entered World War II in 1940 all transmissions were interrupted, and were resumed in earnest only nine years after the end of the conflict, on January 3, 1954. There are two main national television organisations responsible for most viewing: state-owned RAI, accounting for 37% of the total viewing figures in May 2014, and Mediaset, a commercial network which holds about 33%. The third largest player, the Italian branch of Warner Bros. Discovery, had a viewing share of 5.8%. Apart from these three free to air companies, Comcast's satellite pay TV platform Sky Italia is increasing in viewing and shares. VIP My Brother Superman
''VIP my Brother Superman'' ( it, VIP, mio fratello superuomo), often known in English as ''The SuperVips'', is a 1968 Italian animated film directed by Bruno Bozzetto. It is a parody of superheroes and enjoyed a good commercial and critical success. In 2008 it was produced a spin-off TV-series in 3D animation, ''PsicoVip''. Plot Recounting the adventures of the last in a line of Supermen, the film pokes fun at the processes that lie behind advertising, politics and our consumer society. Bruno Bozzetto
Bruno Bozzetto (born 3 March 1938) is an Italian cartoon animator and film director, creator of many short pieces, mainly of a political or satirical nature. He created his first animated short "Tapum! the weapons' story" in 1958 at the age of 20. His most famous character, a hapless little man named " Signor Rossi" (Mr. Rossi), has been featured in many animated shorts as well as starring in three feature films: '' Mr. Rossi Looks for Happiness'' (1976), '' Mr. Rossi's Dreams'' (1977), and '' Mr. Rossi's Vacation'' (1977). Biography In 1965, Bozzetto produced his first feature-length animated film: ''West and Soda'', a parody of American Western films.
