2008 Webby Awards
The 12th annual 2008 Webby Awards were held on June 10, 2008 and emceed by SNL head writer Seth Meyers and help at Cipriani, a massive banquet hall in Manhattan's financial district. The Webby Film and Video Awards were held on June 9 at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and were hosted by Judah Friedlander. The awards were judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and winners were selected from over 10,000 entries. ''Sharkrunners'' season 1 was a game created by area/code for the Discovery Channel as part of the channel's 20th year of ''Shark Week''. The game used satellite tracking of six great white sharks off the coast of California. Launchball
Launchball is a physics-based online game produced by the Science Museum in London, to coincide with the reopening in 2007 of their hands-on gallery 'Launchpad'. The aim of the game is to get a ball from a starting position to a 'goal' by placing additional blocks onto the grid-based screen. Blocks include springs, slopes, magnets, lights, mirrors and so on. Originally produced in Adobe Flash, the game was re-released in 2016 as a native HTML5 game, with support for touch and mobile devices. The Wright Electrocity was a type of hybrid electric bus built by Wrightbus between 2002 and 2013. The Electrocity was based on DAF/VDL SB120 chassis for most of these buses, except for a single Dennis Dart SLF prototype. History Two Electrocity prototypes were initially built in 2002; one based on DAF SB120 chassis, the other based on a Dennis Dart SLF chassis.
