Xabier Zandio Echaide (born 17 March 1977) is a retired Spanish professional road bicycle racer who last rode for UCI ProTeam . Biography Born in Pamplona, Zandio grew up in a sporting family—one brother is a footballer and another a pelota player—and decided at the age of 17 to become a cyclist rather than work for his parents' butchery business. He began his professional career in 2001 with the team (which was renamed in 2004, and in 2005). After a difficult 2004 season in which injuries drained him physically and emotionally, he returned with a strong performance in the 2005 Tour de France. Finishing in 22nd place overall, he managed 4th in the 18th stage, and 2nd in the 16th, behind Óscar Pereiro. He currently resides in Pamplona and is married with two children. Iñigo Landaluze Intxaurraga (born May 9, 1977 in Getxo, Basque Country) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2009, entirely for the team. During the 2009 season, Landaluze tested positive for the use of Continuous erythropoietin receptor activator (CERA) at the 2009 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré. He received a two-year ban for this, and was disqualified from his results at the race. Doping In 2005 Landaluze made his breakthrough by winning the 2005 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré. However his win was clouded in controversy as it was soon announced he had tested positive for abnormally high testosterone and was suspended from racing until his case was heard out. In 2006, however, he was cleared to return to racing after he showed that the lab conducting tests committed procedural errors. Vuelta Ciclista a Burgos is an elite professional road bicycle racing event held annually in the Burgos province of Spain. The men's Vuelta a Burgos has been a multi-day stage race as part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005.
