2008 United Indoor Football Season
The 2008 United Indoor Football season was preceded by 2007. It was the fourth and final season of the UIF. For this year, there were 8 teams (4 teams in 2 conferences) playing a 15-game season schedule with all teams playing 14 regular season games from Saturday, March 8 to Saturday, June 14. The winning team was decided in United Bowl IV on Saturday, July 12. For the fourth-straight year, the Sioux Falls Storm became the UIF champion as they beat the Bloomington Extreme. Following United Bowl IV, the champion played against the Intense Football League champion (the Louisiana Swashbucklers) on Saturday, August 2 and won the inaugural National Indoor BowThe National Indoor Bowl was popular enough to allow the two leagues (UIF and IFL) create a new league called the Indoor Football League for 2009. The 2007 United Indoor Football season was preceded by 2006 and was succeeded by 2008. It was the third season of the UIF. Teams played either a 14 or 15 game schedule from March 23 until July 14, 2007. The league champions, for the third year in a row, were the Sioux Falls Storm, who defeated the Lexington Horsemen in United Bowl III. In doing so, they became the very first football team to have back-to-back perfect seasons. Belton is a city in the U.S. state of Texas on the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and Waco. Peter Harold Christofilakos (born May 28, 1981) is a former professional American football kicker. He attended the University of Illinois and was a soccer team player. He was a member of the Bloomington Extreme/Edge and Arizona Rattlers. High school Peter played soccer and football at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. He holds the Central State 8 Conference's record for longest field goals with a 46 yarder. He was a three-year starter on the soccer team. His senior year, he was named All-state in soccer as well as football. He led the soccer team to the 1999 tournament and was named Most Valuable Player. Travonti Johnson (born May 9, 1984) was an American football safety. He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at UCF. Early life Johnson attended Dr. Michael M. Krop High School in Miami, Florida. Chris Dixon (American Football)
Chris Dixon II (born November 15, 1981) is a former professional indoor football player. He is also a former head coach. He ended his long playing career with a stint as quarterback for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League (AFL) before returning to the Sioux Falls Storm (IFL) near the end of their 2019 season. Dixon attended Contra Costa College for two years before attending Humboldt State University, where he was an All-conference player. After failing to be drafted, Dixon played semi-professional outdoor football before becoming an indoor football player. In 2005, he made his professional debut with the Black Hills Red Dogs, playing both quarterback and wide receiver.
