2008 UNLV Rebels Football Team
The 2008 UNLV Rebels football team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. UNLV competed as a member of the Mountain West Conference (MW) and played their home games at Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada. The Rebels were led by fourth-year head coach Mike Sanford. UNLV finished the season with a 5–7 record (MW: 2–6), narrowly missing bowl eligibility. UNLV won three of their four out-of-conference games, including overtime upsets of both of their opponents from Bowl Championship Series conferences: 15th-ranked Arizona State of the Pac-10, 23–20, and Iowa State of the Big 12, 34–31. Fumble
A fumble in gridiron football occurs when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled), scoring, or going out of bounds. By rule, it is any act other than passing, kicking, punting, or successful handing that results in loss of ball possession by a player. A fumble may be forced by a defensive player who either grabs or punches the ball or butts the ball with their helmet (a move called "tackling the ball"). 2008 Utah State Aggies Football Team
The 2008 Utah State Aggies football team represented Utah State University as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aggies were led by fourth-year head coach Brent Guy and played their home games in Romney Stadium in Logan, Utah. Guy was fired prior to the end of the season after the team compiled a 2–9 record. At Utah State, Guy never finished a season with more than three wins. Phil Steele (c. 1960) is an American sportswriter and analyst who focuses exclusively on college and professional football. He is considered a "highly respected prognosticator" within the sports media. In North America, a bowl game is one of a number of post-season college football games that are primarily played by teams belonging to the NCAA's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Omar Clayton
Omar A. Clayton is an American football quarterback. He played college football for the UNLV Rebels at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Early life Clayton was born on July 30, 1989 in Decatur, Illinois to parents Dameon Clayton and Kelly Bradford. He attended Normal Community High School, where he played football during his freshman year. His family then moved to Texas, where he attended Plano East Senior High School, which employed a spread offense. He returned to Illinois and Normal Community for his senior season, where he led the team from the I-formation. 2008 BYU Cougars Football Team
The 2008 BYU Cougars football team represented Brigham Young University in the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Prior to the 2008 season, BYU had won consecutive Mountain West Conference (MWC) championship titles without losing a conference game. It had also finished with an 11-2 overall record for consecutive seasons.
