Tour Of Qatar
The Tour of Qatar was an annual professional cycling stage race held in Qatar. First organized in 2002, the event was part of the UCI Asia Tour until 2016. The 2017 edition was to have seen the event upgraded to the UCI World Tour for the first time, but it was cancelled due to lack of sponsorship support. The event consisted of a men's competition over five stages, and, since 2009, a women's competition over four stages – held a week before the men's race. Because Qatar is entirely flat, the tour was almost always won by a sprinter or classics specialist. Danilo Napolitano (born 31 January 1981) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2017, and was chiefly known for his sprinting abilities. Born in Vittoria, Sicily, Napolitano turned professional in 2004 and for the 2004 and 2005 seasons he rode for the professional continental team . Maarten Tjallingii
Maarten Pieter Tjallingii ( ; born 5 November 1977) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2016. Career Born in Leeuwarden, Tjallingii's biggest win was the 2006 Tour of Belgium. A frequent participant in breakaways in major races, his other most notable performances include a third place at the 2011 Paris–Roubaix and spending four days in the King of the Mountains jersey in the 2014 Giro d'Italia. Tjallingii was selected to ride the 2012 Tour de France, but crashed on stage 3, he continued for another and finished it over ten minutes behind the winner Peter Sagan. However he did not start stage 4, reportedly with a fractured left hip, becoming the third retirement of the 2012 Tour. Luciano André Pagliarini Mendonça (born April 18, 1978, in Arapongas, state of Paraná) is a retired Brazilian cyclist. A renowned sprinter, he has been regarded as one of Brazil's finest cyclists. Pagliarini has taken part in the road cycling race at 2004 Summer Olympics (from which he withdrew due to mechanical trouble) and the 2005 Tour de France (best position: 5th on stage 2, withdrawal on stage 9). He had a successful track career prior to turning to road bicycle racing, winning Team Pursuit at the 2000 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester.
