The Australian honours and awards system refers to all Order (distinction), orders, decorations, and medals, as instituted by letters patent from the Monarchy of Australia, Monarch of Australia and countersigned by the Australian prime minister at the time, that have been progressively introduced since 14 February 1975. The Australian honours and awards system excludes all state and local government, and private, issued awards and medals (although a few can be recognised in the Australian Honours Order of Wearing, order of wearing, like those in the Order of Saint John (chartered 1888), Order of St John). The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane is a Latin Church metropolitan archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Australia located in Brisbane and covering the South East region of Queensland, Australia. Clean Up Australia
Clean Up Australia Limited is a not-for-profit Australian environmental conservation organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. The organisation has sponsored a yearly Clean Up Australia Day since 1990. On the first Sunday of March each year groups of citizens clean up rubbish at different clean up sites across the country. According to the organisation, more than a million people participate each year. Clean Up Australia Limited also supports other environmental efforts, including preventing waste in the environment. Kim Coral McKay (born 1959) is an Australian environmentalist, author, entrepreneur and business person. Since April 2014, she has been the Director and CEO of the Australian Museum, the first woman to hold the position in the museum's 191-year history. She co-founded the Clean Up Australia campaign in 1989 and the Clean Up the World campaign in 1992, with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The Hon. Honorary Air Commodore Terence (Terry) John Higgins (born 1943) is an Australian-born judge of the National and Supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea, and a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory.
