The 2008 PBA All-Star Weekend was the annual all-star weekend of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)'s 2007–08 PBA season. The events were held from April 24 to 27, 2008 at the West Negros University Gym, Bacolod, Negros Occidental. Friday events Obstacle Challenge Time in seconds. West Negros University
STI West Negros University, also referred to by its acronym STI WNU or colloquially as West Neg, is a private university located in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines established in 1948. Ryan Reyes
Ryan Jay Reyes (born August 10, 1983) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Nicknamed D-Energizer for his energetic style of play, he was drafted third overall by the Sta. Lucia Realtors in the 2007 PBA draft. Kelly Williams
Kelly Williams (born February 7, 1982) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the TNT Tropang Giga in the PBA. He played collegiate basketball at Oakland University, an NCAA Division I school in the United States, and he also represented the Philippines in international competitions. Early life Williams was born in Detroit, Michigan to an American father and a Filipina mother. He is the youngest of three children. His father died of cancer at the age of 69 when he was seven years old. He attended Martin Luther King High School where he played in the Detroit PSL basketball league. Nelbert Omolon (born June 30, 1980 in Talakag, Bukidnon) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player. He last played for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 8th overall in the 2004 PBA draft that included Rich Alvarez, Marc Pingris, James Yap, Ranidel de Ocampo, Gary David, Sonny Thoss and Wesley Gonzales. Junthy Valenzuela (born June 5, 1979) is a Filipino former basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), a former Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Red Bull Barako player. He was automatically pulled by Red Bull directly from the Philippine Basketball League. On April 14, 2008, he was traded by the Barako Bull Energy Boosters, Red Bull Barako to the Barangay Ginebra Kings in exchange for a 2009 second round pick and a 2010 first round draft pick. After his PBA career came into an end, Valenzuela returned to his home province, Cebu to become an assistant coach of the University of San Carlos Warriors men's basketball team in the CESAFI. Joe Calvin Devance Jr. (born February 19, 1982) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player who won 12 championships over the course of his career with the Alaska Aces, the Magnolia franchise, and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Rommel Niño T. "KG" Canaleta (born February 12, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball coach. He is currently the assistant coach for the Taichung Suns of the T1 League. James Yap
James Carlos Agravante Yap Sr. (born February 15, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known by his nickname Big Game James, he had played for the Star Hotshots for twelve seasons winning seven PBA championships before being traded on 2016. He is also a 16-time PBA All-Star through 2004 to 2019, all as Starter. Yap was a successful high school basketball player at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School and the Iloilo Central Commercial High School, where he led his team to three consecutive PRISAA titles. John Arigo
John Hartley Ward Arigo (born December 10, 1978), in Charleston, South Carolina, is a Filipino-American retired professional basketball player having played for three teams in the Philippine Basketball Association over a nine-year career. He was drafted 5th overall by the Alaska Aces in January 2001 during his senior year of playing NCAA Division II basketball for the University of North Florida. Prior to his stint with the UNF Ospreys in 2000, he played three collegiate years for the University of Tampa Spartans from 1997–2000, where he earned "Player of the Year" honors in 1999.
