2008 Formula Renault 3.5 Series Season
The 2008 Formula Renault 3.5 Series was the fourth Formula Renault 3.5 Series season. It began on 26 April in Monza, Italy and finished on 19 October in Barcelona, Spain after 17 races. Regulation Changes Technical After a three-year cycle, the current Formula Renault 3.5 chassis was replaced by a brand new car built by Italian racecar constructor Dallara. The new car featured flex-fuel technology and could be powered by either premium unleaded petrol or E85 bioethanol, which was a first for this level of motorsport in Europe. The Renault V6 engine, prepared by French company Solution F, also saw its power increased from to . The car also featured a new carbon bodyshell, as well as a new shaped front wing, hollowed sidepods and multiple side deflectors designed to improve aerodynamic performance. Alexandre Marsoin (born March 25, 1989) is a professional racing driver from France. Career Formula Renault After an early career in karting, Marsoin made his racing debut in 2005 in the Formula Renault Campus France series, finishing the year in eighth position. The following year he moved up to the French Formula Renault championship with the Epsilon Sport team, taking a single podium finish and fastest lap on his way to twelfth in the standings. He also took part in two races of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship. For 2007, he continued in French Formula Renault whilst also taking part in a full Eurocup Formula Renault season. Mario Klabin Xavier Romancini (born December 15, 1987 in Telêmaco Borba) is a professional racing driver from Brazil. Romancini started his racing career in 2006 in the Brazilian Formula Renault 2.0 series. Epsilon Euskadi
EPIC Racing (Euskadi Phil Imanol Claudio Racing) was a racing team from Spain. The team's headquarters were located in Vitoria ( Alava). It was the second major motorsport team from the Basque Country, (Euskadi). Epsilon Euskadi was the biggest one and ran their own team in World Series by Renault and Formula Renault before selling the racing division to EPIC Racing in March 2011 in a bid to run the World Series by Renault with both FR3.5 and FR2.0 when Epsilon Euskadi ran into financial trouble and allowed all personnel involved to maintain their jobs. Robert Wickens
Robert Tyler Wickens (born March 13, 1989) is a Canadian racing driver from Guelph, Ontario, driving in the Michelin Pilot Challenge for Bryan Herta Autosport. In 2009 he finished in second place in the FIA Formula Two Championship, and in 2010 he was runner-up in the GP3 Series. In his return to Formula Renault 3.5, where he competed in 2008, he won the 2011 season championship with Carlin Motorsport, with backing of Marussia. Wickens then left the series to race in the DTM for the HWA Team. Wickens left DTM after the 2017 season and signed to drive for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in the 2018 IndyCar Series, going on to claim pole position in his debut race at the 2018 St. Petersburg Grand Prix.
