2008 Finnish Figure Skating Championships
The 2008 Finnish Figure Skating Championships took place between December 7 and 9, 2007 in Rauma, Finland, Rauma. Skaters competed at the senior and junior levels in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, women's singles, and ice dancing on the levels of senior and junior. The event was used to help determine the Finnish team to the 2008 European Figure Skating Championships, 2008 European Championships. Following the event, the Europeans team was named as: Minkkinen for the men and Korpi, Lepistö, and Vähämaa for the ladies. The senior compulsory dance was the Argentine Tango and the junior compulsory dance was the Blues. The Finnish Figure Skating Championships () are a figure skating national championship held annually by the Finnish Figure Skating Association to determine the national champions of Finland (''see also:'' ''Finnish Champion''). The IV District, also known as Martti ( Finnish; ''Martinsbacken'' in Swedish), is one of the central districts of Turku, Finland. It is located on the east side of the river Aura, between ''Tervahovinkatu'' in the west and ''Betaniankatu'' and ''Martinkatu'' in the east. Jussiville Partanen (born 15 July 1991) is a Finnish ice dancer who currently competes with Arina Klinovitskaya. With his former skating partner, Cecilia Törn, he is the 2015 International Cup of Nice champion, the 2017 Ice Challenge champion, and a three-time Finnish national champion (2016–2018). They won bronze at three ISU Challenger Series events and competed in the final segment at four ISU Championships. Career Early career Partanen began learning to skate in 2001. Bela Papp (born 9 March 1994) is a Finnish figure skater. He is the 2011 Finnish national champion. Selected to compete at four consecutive World Junior Championships, he qualified twice for the free skate. Papp also competed at various different Junior Grand Prix events as well as represented Finland at two consecutive University Games (Universiade). Papp has won the Finnish title in all of the categories and was the youngest man to win the Senior title at the age of 16. Personal life Bela Papp was born on 9 March 1994 in Kuopio, Finland.
