2008 FINA Youth World Swimming Championships
The 2nd FINA World Youth Swimming Championships, or 2008 Youth Worlds, were held on July 8–13, 2008, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The Championships were held at the Aquatics Center of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Centro Acuático Olímpico Universitario). In May 2008, this same pool hosted the swimming portion of the 2008 Mexican National Olympiad, which served as the country's selection meet for Mexico's teams to the 2008 Olympics. The male participants had to be 18 years or younger on the 31 December 2008 (i.e. born 1990 or later). The female participants had to be 17 years or younger on the 31 December 2008 (i.e. born 1991 or later). FINA World Junior Swimming Championships
The FINA World Junior Swimming Championships (or "Junior Worlds") is a swimming championship event organized by FINA for girls aged 14–17 and boys aged 15–18 on 31 December of the year of the competition. Benjamin Treffers
Benjamin Treffers (born 15 August 1991) is an Australian competitive swimmer who has participated in the FINA world championships and Commonwealth Games. Treffers is the current Australian Record Holder in the 50m backstroke event Treffers also won the title of 2012 Australian Champion in the 50m backstroke event and is trained by the Australian Institute of Sport. Coached by John Fowlie, Treffers won the title of 2011 Australian Champion in the Men's 100m Backstroke event and represented Australia at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai, having narrowly missed out on a place at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Marco Koch (born 25 January 1990) is a German competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke events. He is a former world record holder in the 200 meter breaststroke (short course).
