2008 Canadian Tour
The 2008 Canadian Tour season ran from April to September and consisted of 15 tournaments. It was the 39th season of the Canadian Professional Golf Tour. The season started with two events in the United States (in April), followed by three events in Mexico (in April and May), and finishing with 10 events in Canada (in June through September). John Ellis (golfer)
John Ellis (born October 8, 1979) is an American professional golfer. Ellis was born in San Jose, California. He played college golf at the University of Oregon where he was a First-Team All Pac-10 member as a senior. He turned professional in 2003. Ellis won the Canadian Tour's Order of Merit in 2008. He won three events that year, the Stockton Sports Commission Classic, the Corona Mazatlan Mexican PGA Championship and the Telus Edmonton Open. ATB Financial Classic
The ATB Financial Classic is a golf tournament on PGA Tour Canada. It was first played in 2007, and was merged with the Edmonton Open in 2010. From 2007 to 2015, it was played at a different course in Alberta each year. From 2016 to 2021, it was played at Country Hills Golf Club in Calgary. In 2022, it moved to Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club in Edmonton. Canadian Tour Championship
The Tour Championship of Canada is an annual golf tournament played on PGA Tour Canada, commonly known as the Canadian Tour. It is the last tournament played in the season, and in 2022 had a purse of C$225,000. The tournament was founded in 2002 as the Bay Mills Open, hosted at the Bay Mills Resort in Brimley, Michigan, United States, and became designated as the Canadian Tour's "Players Championship" the following year. In 2006, the tournament moved to Ontario, Canada as the new Canadian Tour Championship. It has since remained in Ontario, and adopted different names under various title sponsors. In 2015, it was an event reserved for those in the top 60 on the PGA Tour Canada money list. All players in this tournament retain PGA Tour Canada status. Kent Eger
Kent Eger (born February 18, 1981) is a Canadian professional golfer who plays on the Canadian Tour and Gateway Tour. Eger was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona. Junior and amateur golf Eger had success as a junior golfer in Saskatchewan, winning the 1999 Saskatchewan Junior Boys Championship, before moving to British Columbia to further his golf career. Eger played out of the Radium Resort in Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia, where he represented British Columbia on two Willingdon Cup teams, and played in four Canadian Amateur Championships. Alexander Paul Coe (born 4 September 1969), known professionally as Sasha, is a Welsh DJ and record producer. He is best known for his live events and electronic music as a solo artist, as well as his collaborations with British DJ John Digweed as Sasha & John Digweed. Graham DeLaet
Graham DeLaet (born 22 January 1982) is a Canadian professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. He has also worked as a broadcaster for TSN. Early life DeLaet was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and grew up there and in Moose Jaw. He attended Boise State University where he won 10 collegiate tournaments. He was on the Canadian development golf team, organized by the RCGA, from 2005 to 2006, and credited this experience with improving his game. DeLaet finished 2nd as an amateur in the 2005 Edmonton Open, a Canadian Tour event. Early professional career DeLaet turned professional in 2007 and played on the Canadian Tour that year. The Montreal Open was a golf tournament on the Canadian Tour that was held in the Greater Montreal area, Quebec, Canada between 2004 and 2009. Founded as the Greater Montreal Open in 2004, the event was sponsored by Lexus the following year and titled the Lexus Montreal Open. Wes Heffernan
Wes Heffernan (born 7 March 1977) is a Canadian professional golfer. Heffernan was born in Calgary, Alberta and attended Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary. During his time at Mount Royal College, Heffernan dominated golf in Western Canada. He racked up four wins in six tournaments between 1997 and 1998. In September 1997 he, along with teammate Scott Baird, led the Cougars to a 26-shot, team victory in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference Championship. Heffernan won the silver medal finishing just behind Baird. Later that fall, he put together one of his finest efforts as a Cougar, leading Mount Royal to a Western Canadian Championship at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club. The Edmonton Open was a golf tournament on the Canadian Tour that was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1993 as the Klondike Golf Klassic and was held during the week leading up to the Klondike Days summer fair.
