2008 Austrian Open (tennis)
The 2008 Austrian Open was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 38th edition of the Austrian Open, and was part of the International Series Gold of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Kitzbühel Sportpark Tennis Stadium in Kitzbühel, Austria, from 14 July through 20 July 2008. The singles field featured Bergamo Challenger winner and Hamburg Masters semifinalist Andreas Seppi, Houston and Munich doubles champion and Wimbledon semifinalist Rainer Schüttler, and Prostějov Challenger titlist and Stuttgart semifinalist Agustín Calleri. ATP International Series Gold
International Series Gold (previously known as the Championship Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally between 2000 and 2008 that were part of the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP Tour. The tournaments were positioned below the ATP Masters Series, and above the ATP International Series in terms of prize money and ranking points available. International Series Gold tournaments offered players cash prizes (purses from $755,000 to $1,426,250 as of 2008) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. Olivier Rochus
Olivier Rochus (; born 18 January 1981) is a retired Belgian tennis player. He is the younger brother of Christophe Rochus, also a former top-40 tennis player. Rochus won two singles titles in his career and in 2004 French Open – Men's doubles, 2004 won the French Open doubles title, partnering fellow Belgian Xavier Malisse. His career-high singles ranking is world No. 24. At tall, he was the shortest player on the ATP World Tour. Jürgen Melzer (born 22 May 1981) is an Austrian former professional tennis player. Melzer reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 in April 2011, and a doubles ranking of world No. 6 in September 2010. Eduardo Schwank
Eduardo Jonatan Schwank (; also known as ''Schwanka''; born 23 April 1986) is a retired professional tennis player from Argentina. In 2011, he reached the finals of the French Open in men's doubles partnering Juan Sebastian Cabal and of the US Open in mixed doubles partnering Gisela Dulko. He was coached by Javier Nalbandian, the brother of David Nalbandian. Schwank's family background is from the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Potito Starace (; born 14 July 1981) is an Italian retired professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world no. 27 on October 15, 2007. He was a clay court specialist, and was coached by Umberto Rianna. Starace was banned from tennis for life by the Italian Tennis Federation and by the Tennis Integrity Unit for betting offences. Career One of the most memorable runs of Starace's career was when he made the men's doubles semifinals of the 2012 French Open, partnering Daniele Bracciali, before succumbing to top seeds Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi. Rainer Schüttler
Rainer Schüttler (; born 25 April 1976) is a German former professional tennis player. Schüttler was the runner-up at the 2003 Australian Open and a semifinalist at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships.
