2008 All-Pacific-10 Conference Football Team
The 2008 All-Pacific-10 Conference football team consists of American football players chosen by various organizations for All-Pacific-10 Conference teams for the 2008 college football season. The USC Trojans won the conference, posting an 8–1 conference record. USC then beat the Big Ten champion Penn State Nittany Lions in the Rose Bowl 38 to 24. Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers was voted Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year. USC linebacker Rey Maualuga was voted Pat Tillman Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs or plays; if they fail, they turn over the football to the defense, but if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs to continue the drive. Andy Levitre
Andrew Steven Levitre ( ; born May 15, 1986) is a former American football offensive guard. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round, 51st overall in the 2009 NFL Draft, and has also played for the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football for the Oregon State Beavers. Early years Levitre played high school football at San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, California, where he was a two-way lineman. In his junior season, he recorded 47 tackles, two quarterback sacks and two fumble recoveries. He added more than 60 tackles and three sacks in his senior year. Taylor Mays
Taylor Mays (born February 7, 1988) is a former American football safety. He won Washington state titles in track in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash as a high school sophomore, before leaving track and field to dedicate himself to football. He played college football at USC, and was a three-time All-American. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft and also played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders, playing in 66 regular season NFL games. Early life Mays was born in Irving, Texas, the son of Stafford Mays, a former NFL defensive lineman, and Laurie Mays (née Black), a Nordstrom executive. Alterraun Ennis Verner (born December 13, 1988) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins. High school career Verner attended Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California, where he played wide receiver, defensive back, linebacker, and special teams. Syd'Quan Thompson (born February 7, 1987) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 225th overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. Keaton Kristick (born April 25, 1988) is a former American football linebacker. He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Brian Patrick Cushing (born January 24, 1987) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at USC, and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft and played his entire 9-year career for the Texans from 2009 to 2017 and became the team's all-time leading tackler. Dexter Alexander Davis (born November 10, 1986) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). Daniel Te'o-Nesheim (né Nesheim; June 12, 1987 – October 29, 2017) was a Samoan American football outside linebacker. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Washington. Early years Te'o-Nesheim was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa on June 12, 1987, to parents David and Ailota Nesheim. He moved to Mill Creek, Washington at the age of 5.
