2007–08 ULEB Cup
The 2007–08 ULEB Cup was the sixth season of the second-tier level European professional club basketball competition, the EuroCup, which is organized by Euroleague Basketball S.L. It was also the last season for the competition under the name of ULEB Cup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one tier below the EuroLeague level. On July 2, 2008, EuroLeague Basketball S.L. and FIBA Europe announced that the competition would be renamed to the Eurocup, starting with the 2008–09 season. For the first time, 54 teams competed. The Final Eight was held from April 10, to April 13, in Turin, Italy, in the Palavela arena. The trophy was won by the Spanish club DKV Joventut, with the other finalist being another Spanish team, Akasvayu Girona. Dynamo Moscow took third place. BC UNICS (russian: БК УНИКС) is a professional basketball club in Kazan, Russia, that plays in the VTB United League, and formerly played in the EuroLeague. On February 28, 2022, EuroLeague Basketball suspended the team because of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Their home arena is Basket-Hall Kazan. History 1991-1999 UNICS was established in 1991. The Skyliners Frankfurt, currently known as Fraport Skyliners for sponsorship reasons, are a professional basketball club based in Frankfurt, Germany. Their home arena is Ballsporthalle. The club has played in the Basketball Bundesliga since 1999. Its greatest accomplishments were the German Cup competition title in 2000, the German national championship in 2004 and the FIBA Europe Cup in 2016. QTSV Quakenbrück, representing its professional team as Artland Dragons, is a basketball club based in Quakenbrück, Germany. Their home arena was the Artland Arena, which has room for 3,000 spectators. From 2003 till 2015 the club played in the Basketball Bundesliga and in several European competitions.
