Jim O'Brien (basketball, Born 1952)
James Francis Xavier O'Brien (born February 11, 1952) is an American basketball coach who is currently senior advisor for the Philadelphia 76ers. O'Brien was previously an assistant and head coach at both the college and NBA levels and was head coach at Wheeling Jesuit from 1982 to 1987, Dayton from 1989 to 1994, the Boston Celtics from 2001 to 2004, Philadelphia 76ers in 2004–05, and Indiana Pacers from 2007 to 2011. Early life and education O'Brien is the son-in-law of Hall of Fame coach Jack Ramsay. Born and raised in Philadelphia, O'Brien graduated from Roman Catholic High School of Philadelphia in 1970 and St. Joseph's University in 1974. The 2007–08 Cleveland Cavaliers season was the 38th season of NBA basketball in Cleveland, Ohio. 2007–08 New Orleans Hornets Season
The 2007–08 New Orleans Hornets season was the Hornets' 6th season in the National Basketball Association. They returned to New Orleans full-time for the first time since 2004–05. The Hornets had the sixth best team offensive rating in the NBA. Although they declined an option to play part of this season at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as they did for most of the previous two seasons, they did play their first preseason game at the Ford Center on October 9 for a final curtain call. The 2007–08 New Jersey Nets season was the 41st season, 32nd in the NBA basketball in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In midseason, All-Star point guard Jason Kidd was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks, the team where he began his career. He would later help the Mavericks win their first ever NBA championship in 2011. Kidd would later return to the Nets, in Brooklyn, as their head coach for the 2013–14 season. The 2007–08 Miami Heat season was their 20th season in the National Basketball Association. To commemorate the anniversary, the Heat jerseys bear a XX on the rightmost part. However, the season turned out to be disastrous. The Heat never recovered from winning only eight games in the first two months of the season and finished 15–67, the worst record in the league. Coincidentally, this was the same record the team posted in their inaugural season. This was Pat Riley's final season as head coach of the Heat and his twenty–six year NBA coaching career was ended before officially resigned for a second time following the season. He did, however, remain as team president and replaced by Riley's assistant coach Erik Spoelstra.
