2007–08 Azerbaijan First Division
In the 2007–08 season, the Azerbaijan First Division—the second tier of professional football in Azerbaijan—was organised in two groups, A and B, each with 10 teams. Azerbaijan First Division
The Azerbaijan First Division ( az, Azərbaycan Birinci Divizionu) is the second highest professional division in Azerbaijani professional football (soccer), football. The division is run by Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan, AFFA. No teams are promoted to Azerbaijan Premier League, Premier Division. History Due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, all Azerbaijan clubs of the former Soviet Top League, Soviet Premier Division and Soviet First League, Soviet First Division conformed a single Azerbaijan Premier League, which meant that the new second tier of Azerbaijan football would remain regionalized. For the first two seasons three regional groups conformed the second tier, until in 1994 the single table in use today began to be used. Competition format The First Division currently consists of 14 teams. All teams play each other two times. Baku

Aghdam
Aghdam ( az, Ağdam) is a ghost town and the nominal capital of the Aghdam District of Azerbaijan. Founded in the 18th century, it was granted city status in 1828 and grew considerably during the Soviet period. Aghdam lies from Stepanakert at the eastern foot of the Karabakh Range, on the outskirts of the Karabakh plain. Before the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, butter, wine and brandy, machine, and silk factories, an airport and two railway stations functioned there. By 1989, Aghdam had 28,031 inhabitants. As Azerbaijani forces withdrew from Karabakh following political turmoil in the country during the war, Armenian forces captured Aghdam in July 1993. The heavy fighting forced the city's population to flee eastwards. Upon the seizure, Armenian forces sacked the town. Until 2020, it was almost entirely ruined and uninhabited. ASK Arena ( az, ASK Arena), formerly Inter Arena and Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku . The stadium was built on the site of Termist stadium in 2001 and has a capacity of 8,125 spectators. The stadium surrounded by practice fields, administration buildings and four-star hotel. Quba
Quba () is a city and the administrative centre of the Quba District of Azerbaijan. The city lies on the north-eastern slopes of Shahdag mountain, at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level, on the right bank of the Kudyal river. It has a population of 38,100 (2010). Salyan, Azerbaijan
Salyan ( az, Salyan), is a city and the capital of the Salyan District of Azerbaijan. The city of Salyan is industrialized and known for processing caviar. History The city has been a continuous settlement of ''sal'' tribe, after whom the city named and occupied by Kura river. Salyan was part of Quba Khanate during 1680 to 1782 and ruled by various khans. Salyan was the administrative center of the Javad Uyezd of the Baku Governorate.
