2007–08 A1 Grand Prix Season
The 2007–08 A1 Grand Prix season was the third in the relatively short history of the championship. Teams All teams used same A1 Grand Prix car including Zytek-powered, Cooper Avon-shod and Lola A1GP chassis. The following 22 teams are competitors in the 2007–08 championship : Swiss drivers Rahel Frey and Natacha Gachnang are the two first females to drive A1 Grand Prix cars this season. Their first steps were test drivers during Silverstone, September 18–19, 2007, test session. A1 Grand Prix
A1 Grand Prix (A1GP) was a "single-make" open-wheel auto racing series that ran from 2005 until 2009. It was unique in its field in that competitors solely represented their nation as opposed to themselves or a team, the usual format in most formula racing series. As such, it was often promoted as the "World Cup of Motorsport". The series was ratified by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), and races were held in the traditional Formula One off-season, the northern hemisphere winter. Emerson Fittipaldi
Emerson Fittipaldi (; born 12 December 1946) is a Brazilian former automobile racing driver who won both the Formula One World Championship and the Indianapolis 500 twice each and the CART championship once. Moving up from Formula Two, Fittipaldi made his race debut for Team Lotus as a third driver at the 1970 British Grand Prix. After Jochen Rindt was killed at the 1970 Italian Grand Prix, the Brazilian became Lotus's lead driver in only his fifth Grand Prix. He enjoyed considerable success with Lotus, winning the World Drivers' Championship in 1972 at the age of 25. At the time, he was the youngest ever F1 world champion, and he held the record for 33 years. He later moved to McLaren for 1974, winning the title once again. A1 Team Czech Republic is the defunct Czech team of A1 Grand Prix, an international racing series. Although no official announcement was made, the team's flag icon was removed from the A1GP website, and they do not appear in the 2008–09 season results page. Charouz Racing System
Charouz Racing System (CHRS, also was known as Lotus in World Series Formula V8 3.5) is a racing team from Czech Republic, created in 1985 by . History In the 1980s, Charouz participated in the European Championship of Circuit Races' 1600 cc division in a Toyota Corolla. Khalil Beschir
Khalil Beschir (born 18 June 1983) is a Lebanese motorsport entrepreneur and Motorsport development consultant, as well as a former racing driver. Early years Beschir was born in Bhersaf, Lebanon. As a child, he started to watch Formula 1 on television and quickly developed a passion for the sport – vowing to become a professional racing driver. However, Lebanon's limited motorsport infrastructure, the lack of educational support and his own lack of financial backing forced him to save enough money for a trip to Europe, where he enrolled at a racing school in Magny Cours, France in 2001. Jimmy Auby (born 7 November 1986 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a South African racing driver. He raced in the South African V8 Championship after progressing from karting. Chris Alajajian (born 31 October 1986) is an Australian-Armenian race car driver. Early career In 2004 he won the Australian Production Car Championship, becoming the youngest ever driver to win an Australian championship. In the same year he also contested some rounds of the Australian Formula 3 Championship with Piccola Scuderia and raced in the Australian GT Performance Car Championship. Continuing in Australian Formula 3 in 2005, Alajajian started the year with Astuti Competition, before moving to Protecnica Racing. He finished third in the championship. A1 Team Lebanon was the Lebanese team of A1 Grand Prix, a former international racing series. Management A1 Team Lebanon's owner is Tameem Auchi. History Daniel Morad became the race driver for A1 Team Lebanon for the 2008-09 season. Although having previously driven in rookie sessions for A1 Team Canada, his Canadian-Lebanese heritage allowed him to switch nationalities, as he had not yet made his race debut. Morad scored Team Lebanon's first ever points in four years in the series at the first weekend of the season at Zandvoort, finishing in 8th place in the Feature Race. Raphael Matos (born August 28, 1981) is a Brazilian professional racing driver. He was the 2008 Firestone Indy Lights Series champion and the 2007 Champ Car Atlantic Series champion.
