The Fabulous Sports Babe
''The Fabulous Sports Babe'' was a semi-fictional character who hosted various American sports radio broadcasts. The program, hosted by Tampa Bay area resident Nanci Donnellan, was syndicated across the United States on both ESPN Radio and ESPN2, from 1994 until 2001. She is noteworthy for being one of the few female broadcasters in sports radio, and was one of the first female sports radio call-in hosts in America. Broadcast history She first appeared on the radio on WEEI Boston and WLOM Cape Cod. In 1983 she joined Tampa Bay radio station WNSI (1380) and later on at WPLP (570) hosting her own sports show at night, The Nanci Donnellan Show. From 1991 to 1994, she was the weekday afternoon sports talk show host on KJR 950 AM in Seattle before joining ESPN Radio. WXLP (96.9 MHz FM) is a commercial radio station, licensed to Moline, Illinois, and serving the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and broadcasts a classic rock radio format. Its radio studios and offices are on North Brady Street in Davenport, Iowa (along with the co-owned KJOC, KBEA-FM, KIIK-FM and KBOB). WXLP has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts. The transmitter is on U.S. Route 150 near North 1300th Avenue in Orion, Illinois. History WMDR (1970-1978) The station signed on in November 1970 as WMDR, a Christian-oriented station that also formatted beautiful music. CHUM Limited was a Canadian media company based in Toronto, Ontario in operation from 1945 to 2007. The company was founded in 1945 as York Broadcasters Limited when it launched CHUM-AM 1050 but was acquired by salesman Allan Waters in 1954. CHUM had expanded to and owned 33 radio stations across Canada under its CHUM Radio Network division (now Bell Media Radio) and also owned other radio stations. Lánchíd Rádió (lit. "''Chain Bridge Radio''") was a privately owned radio station in Hungary. It began broadcasting 15 March 2007 and offered news, reports, interviews, cultural programs and popular music. It is Hungary's 10th most listened radio station. WOR Radio Network
The WOR Radio Network was a slate of nationally syndicated radio programming produced and distributed by flagship radio station WOR in New York City. The programming was primarily general interest commercial talk; only one non-talk program had ever been carried on the network, WAER's "Big Bands, Ballads and Blues". Following the sale of WOR to Clear Channel Communications in 2012, most of the remaining programming on the WOR Radio Network migrated to Radio America. Michael William Lebron (born August 26, 1958), better known as Lionel, is an American syndicated radio, television and YouTube legal and media analyst. He is known as a leading promoter of the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory. Early life and education Lebron was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, where he attended Jesuit High School. Lebron graduated from the University of South Florida and Stetson University College of Law. After graduating from law school, Lebron worked with the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office. Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an American radio network specializing in progressive talk radio. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010. The network was founded as a left wing alternative to counter talk radio with a right wing perspective. Air America featured programs with monologues by on-air personalities, guest interviews, call-ins from listeners, and news reports. Several shows had million plus audiences, and multiple weekday presenters continued on in radio, television, or politics after their time on Air America.
