2007 Presidents Cup
The 2007 Presidents Cup was held in 2007 between September 27 and 30. It was played at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Île Bizard, Quebec, Canada. The United States team won the competition by a margin of 19–14. Format On the first day six matches of foursomes were played. On the second day six matches of four-ball were played. On the third day five matches of foursomes were played in the morning and five matches of four-ball were played in the afternoon. On the fourth and final day, twelve singles matches were played. 34 matches were played in all. Teams Both teams have 12 players plus a non-playing captain. Members of the U.S. Team were selected based on earnings from the 2005 World Golf Championships - NEC Invitational through the 2007 PGA Championship. Royal Montreal Golf Club
The Royal Montreal Golf Club ( French: Le Club de Golf Royal Montréal) is the oldest golf club in North America, and the oldest in continuous existence. In 2023, it will be celebrating 150 years. It was founded in Montreal by eight men in 1873. Permission was granted by Queen Victoria to use the prefix "Royal" in 1884. History The club's first course was a 9-hole layout on Fletcher's Field in Mount Royal Park, which the red-coated golfers shared with the public on the then outskirts of Montreal. Mr. Alexander Dennistoun, a Scottish born man, is known as the first Club's Captain. The club continues to recognize his name in honouring the men's club champion trophy. Nick O'Hern
Nicholas Simon O'Hern (born 18 October 1971) is an Australian professional golfer. O'Hern has played on both of the world's premier professional golf tours, the European Tour, and the United States-based PGA Tour. His biggest successes though, have come at home on the PGA Tour of Australasia, where he won the Order of Merit as the leading money winner in 2006. Steve Stricker
Steven Charles Stricker (born February 23, 1967) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions.
