The 2007 Philippines Open Grand Prix Gold was a badminton tournament which took place in Metro Manila, Philippines from 17 to 22 July 2007. It had a total purse of $120,000. Tournament The 2007 Philippines Open Grand Prix Gold was the forth tournament of the 2007 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix and also part of the Philippines Open championships which has been held since 2006. The Philippine Institute of Sports Complex (also known as the PhilSports Complex) is a national sports complex of the Philippines. It is located in Meralco Avenue in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. Kendrick Lee Yen Hui (; born 8 October 1984) is a Singaporean former badminton player. Lee was ranked fourteen, his highest ranking, in 2007. He was a two-time national champion. Career Lee was a two-time men's singles national champion of 2000 and 2005. He was the youngest to ever win the title when he won his first, at the age of 15. Lee was the silver medalists at the 2002 World Junior Championships, became the first Singaporean to reach the World Junior finals. Andrew Michael Smith (born 3 June 1984) is an English badminton player. Career He had won the New Zealand International in 2004, the Australian International in 2004 and 2005, and also the Croatian International and the Vietnam Open in 2006. Ronald Susilo
Ronald Susilo (; born 6 June 1979) is a Singaporean former badminton player. Susilo was ranked sixth, his highest ranking, in 2004. Susilo started his badminton career at age 19 and had represented Singapore since 2002. He had represented Singapore in two Olympics, the 2004 and the 2008 Summer Olympics and was the flag-bearer for Singapore at the 2004 Summer Olympics opening ceremony. He retired in 2010 before coming out of retirement in 2014 to participate in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. Muhammad Hafiz Hashim
Muhammad Hafiz bin Hashim (born 13 September 1982) is a former Malaysian badminton player whose biggest success is having won the 2003 All England Open Badminton Championships. He is currently the Malaysia national junior under-15 singles coach. Personal life He studied at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ismail before transferring to Kuala Lumpur. Shōji Satō
is a retired Japanese badminton player from NTT East team. He now works as a NTT East singles coach. Career Sato started to playing badminton when he was a kid, influenced by his parents who used to playing badminton as a hobby. He then joined Kodaira club when he was in the third grade of elementary school. He won four Japanese National Championships in a row between 2003 and 2006. Sato made his first appearance at the Olympic Games in 2004 Athens, competed in the men's singles, losing in the round of 32 to Bao Chunlai of China. Taufik Hidayat (born 10 August 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. He is a former World, Olympic, Asian Games, and Asian champion, and the youngest world number one in the men's singles. Hidayat has won the Indonesia Open six times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006).
