The 2007 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge took place in Boom, Belgium from June 23 to July 1, 2007. Argentina earned a spot at the 2008 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, 2008 Champions Trophy in Rotterdam, Netherlands after having defeated New Zealand in the final. Boom, Belgium
Boom (, ; ) is a Belgian town, located in both the arrondissement and province of Antwerp. In 2021, Boom had a total population of 18,799. The total area is 7.37 km² (2.85 sq mi). Residents are known as "Boomenaren". Since 2005, Boom has hosted the annual electronic dance music event Tomorrowland. History Recorded history of this community started in the late 1300s. The population increase in Boom occurred some time during the 19th century. In Boom, people venerate a statue of the lady of Boom. Fernando Zylberberg (born June 30, 1977) is a retired field hockey player from Argentina. Biography Zylberberg was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With the National team, he made his debut in 1997 and competed for his native country at the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics. After a short spell at Dutch club Hurley, he played at Atlético San Sebastián, in Spain. Jérôme Dekeyser
Jérôme Dekeyser (born 15 December 1983) is a Belgian international field hockey player for Braxgata in Antwerp who is usually plays as an attacker. At the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament; Belgium qualified for the 2008 Olympic tournament by coming third at the European Championship in Manchester. At this 2007 European Championship, Dekeyser gave Belgium the lead for the first time in their match against Germany by scoring the 3-2 from a penalty corner. In the first match for Belgium at the Summer Olympics in Beijing, against Spain, he scored again from a penalty corner. Belgium lost the game 4-2. Eventually the Belgian team finished ninth in Beijing. In 2011 Dekeyser placed fourth with Belgium at the European Championship in Germany, and at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London they finished fifth. Xavier Reckinger (born 20 December 1983) is a Belgian international field hockey player and coach of the Germany women's national field hockey team. He played for Braxgata in Boom and is a defender. Before he played with the KHC Dragons. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, with the national team, he finished fifth in the men's tournament. Ignacio Bergner
Ignacio Bergner (born 26 August 1984) is an Argentine field hockey player. Has a sister in Mendoza Ingrid Bergner. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament. Bergner plays in Royal Orée Hockey Club in Brussels. Lucas Rafael Rossi (born 2 June 1985) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Belgian club Braxgata and the Argentine national team. Club career Rossi played for Banco Provincia in Argentina. During the 2005–06 season, he played for Harvestehude in the German Bundesliga. He returned to Europe for the 2007–08 season when he signed for Orée in Belgium. He left Orée in 2010 for Léopold.
