2007 Lagos State Indecency Crackdown
In the fall of 2007, the government of Lagos State under governor Babatunde Fashola initiated a police crackdown on public indecency in personal dress based upon the state's dress code. It was carried out by state police commissioner Mohammed Abubakar, and resulted in the arrests of at least 90 women and 3 men. Babatunde Fashola
Babatunde Raji Fashola ( yo, Bàbátúndé Rájí Fáṣọlá; born 28 June 1963) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician currently serving as the Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria. He served two terms as Governor of Lagos State from 29 May 2007 to 29 May 2015. Early life Fashola was born on 28 June 1963, in Lagos at Island Maternity Hospital into the family of Ademola Fashola, a former journalist with the Daily Times of Nigeria, and Olufunke Agunbiade, a nurse. Mohammed Abubakar (born 22 May 2000) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or left-back for Ghanaian Premier League side Karela United.
