2007 Korean Series
The 2007 Korean Series began on Monday, 22 October, at the Munhak Baseball Stadium in Incheon. It featured the SK Wyverns, who had claimed home ground advantage by finishing in first place at the end of the season, and the Doosan Bears, who had finished second and had swept the Hanhwa Eagles in a best-of-5 playoff series to advance to the next round. The SK Wyverns won the series in six games, after becoming the first team in Korean Series history to claim victory after losing the first two games. The series was also notable for the inability of teams to win at their home grounds (just one home victory out of the six games) and for some unsavory and aggressive incidents between the two teams that marred the first three games. Munhak Baseball Stadium
The Incheon SSG Landers Field is a baseball stadium located in Incheon, South Korea. Formerly named the Munhak Baseball Stadium, it is the home of the KBO League team SSG Landers. The stadium has been remodeled with Shinsegae affiliate brands, including Starbucks, No Brand Burger, and the convenience store e-mart 24. The SSG Landers Field has changed its main theme color to red and yellow, which represents the team's historical color used since the SK Wyverns. Also, the red color and yellow color respectively represent Shinsegae and e-mart as well. The Stadium was serving as the filming location of SBS TV successful television series ''Hot Stove League'' that starred Namkoong Min. Park Kyung-Oan
Park Kyung-oan (born July 11, 1972 in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea) is a former South Korean baseball catcher and former Olympic bronze medalist. A four-time Golden Glove winner, Park is considered by many to be one of the best catchers in Korean baseball history. Playing for the Ssangbangwool Raiders, the Hyundai Unicorns, and the SK Wyverns during his career, his teams won five Korean Series championships. Professional career Park started out his career as a member of the Ssangbangwool Raiders, playing for that team from 1991 to 1997, almost its entire existence. Park was then traded to the Hyundai Unicorns, where he played for the next five seasons. Kwang-hyun Kim (Hangul: 김광현; born July 22, 1988) is a South Korean left-handed pitcher for the SSG Landers of KBO League. Park Jae-hong (Hangul: 박재홍, Hanja: 朴栽弘; born September 7, 1973, in Gwangju, South Korea) is a retired South Korean outfielder in the KBO League. Park was considered one of the best five-tool players in the KBO. He was the first player in KBO history to have 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases (in ) and the only player to have more than two seasons of 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, doing so a record three times: (, and ).
