2007 K League Championship
The 2007 K League Championship was the eleventh competition of the K League Championship, and was held to decide the 25th champions of the K League. The top six clubs of the regular season qualified for the championship. The winners of the regular season directly qualified for the final, and second place team qualified for the semi-final. The other four clubs entered the first round, and the winners of the second round advanced to the semi-final. Each match was played as a single match, excluding the final which consisted of two matches. Pohang Steelers
The Pohang Steelers (Hangul: 포항 스틸러스) are a South Korean professional football club based in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province that compete in the K League 1, the top flight of South Korean football. The Steelers were founded on 1 April 1973 and were originally called POSCO FC after the steel-making company POSCO, which still owns the club today. They are one of South Korea's most successful teams, having won the K League five times and the AFC Champions League three times. Kim Gi-dong
Kim Gi-Dong (; born 12 January 1972 in Dangjin) is a former South Korean footballer. In 1991, Kim debuted as a professional player with Pohang Steelers (then ''POSCO Atoms'') right after his graduation from high school, which was quite unusual then. (Choi Moon-Sik would be a similar case.) He started to appear in the top team matches after joining Yukong Elephants (Bucheon SK after 1996). Bucheon at that time was highly recognized to have a strong midfield under manager Valeri Nepomniachi, and he was a key member. Kim returned to Pohang in 2003 and led the Steelers to the championship in 2007. He was also selected as the 'best eleven' of the league in 2007. He now holds 2nd place in career domestic appearance (league and cups) in K-League, only after goalkeeper Kim Byung-Ji.
