2007 Fordham Rams Football Team
The 2007 Fordham Rams football team was an American football team that represented Fordham University during the 2007 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Fordham won the Patriot League championship, but lost in the first round of the national FCS playoffs. In their second year under head coach Tom Masella, the Rams compiled an 8–4 record (8–3 in the regular season). Mike Breznicky, Earl Hudnell, Mike Nardone, Sam Orah and Dominique Owens were the team captains. The Rams outscored opponents 348 to 298. Their 5–1 conference record was the best in the Patriot League standings. Fordham was unranked through most of the year, only entering the national top 25 in early November, at No. 22. Tom Masella
Tom Masella (born July 11, 1959) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Wagner College, a position he has held since 2020. Massella served as the head football coach at Boston University from 1996 to 1997, Central Connecticut State University from 2004 to 2005, and Fordham University from 2006 to 2007. After serving as an assistant at Wagner College, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and Boston University, Masella became the first head coach of the Fairfield University football team. He left prior to their first game to return to Boston University, thus was the only coach at Fairfield who never coached a game. Masella coached BU to a 2–20 over two seasons before the university dropped football. Cooper Field
Cooper Field, formerly known as Harbin Field and Multi-Sport Field, is a 3,750-seat multi-purpose stadium in Washington, D.C. on the campus of Georgetown University. The field was originally used for intramurals and was adopted for soccer in 1994 as Harbin Field. The name was changed to "Multi-Sport Field", a placeholder pending final construction, to reflect the football team's use of the field starting in 2003. In 2015, Georgetown changed the name to Cooper Field in honor of a $50 million gift from Peter and Susan Cooper which funded athletic leadership programs at Georgetown and construction upgrades to the field. The 2007 Georgetown Hoyas football team was an American football team that represented Georgetown University during the 2007 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Hoyas tied for last in the Patriot League. In their second year under head coach Kevin Kelly, the Hoyas compiled a 1–10 record. Matt Bassuener, Nnamdi Obiako, Stephen Smith and Kyle Van Fleet were the team captains. The Hoyas were outscored 415 to 166. Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium is a 10,221-seat multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, New York, United States. It is the home of Colgate University's football and men's lacrosse teams. Colgate opened the stadium in 1939, originally as Colgate Athletic Field. Colgate's football teams – then known as the Red Raiders and competing at the highest level of NCAA play – were coached during the stadium's inaugural year by Andy Kerr, who led the team from 1929 to 1946.
