2007 Detroit Lions Season
The 2007 Detroit Lions season was the 78th season for the team in the National Football League. After achieving a 6–2 record at the halfway mark, the Lions lost seven of their last eight games. They finished with a 7–9 record for their seventh consecutive losing season. After the 6–2 start, the Lions would go 5–47 in their next 52 games, including a 19-game losing streak between Week 17 of 2007 and Week 2 of 2009, which resulted in the first-ever winless 16-game season in 2008. The Lions improved upon their 3–13 record in 2006 but failed to make the playoffs once again, extending their postseason drought to eight years. The 7–9 record was nonetheless the best record the Lions had in any season under general manager Matt Millen. The 422 pass completions that Detroit surrendered in 2007 is an NFL record. NFC North
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North was previously known as the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were previously members, from 1977, one year after they joined the league as an expansion team, until 2002 when they moved to the NFC South. Manny Ramírez (American Football)
Manuel S. "Manny" Ramírez (born February 19, 1983) is a former American football guard who played in the National Football League for nine years. Ramirez was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas Tech. He had also played for the Denver Broncos. Shawn Jefferson
Vanchi LaShawn "Shawn" Jefferson Sr. (born February 22, 1969) is an American football coach and former wide receiver who is the associate head coach & wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach for the New York Jets from 2019 to 2020 and also previously served as an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions. Mike Barry was an offensive line coach for the National Football League Detroit Lions. While in college, Barry played at Nebraska from 1964 to 1966 and at Southern Illinois University from 1966 to 1969. Jim Colletto
Jim Colletto (born October 4, 1944) is a former American football player and coach. He attended Monterey High School (1958–1962) where he was an all conference baseball and football player and starter on the varsity basketball team. At UCLA Colletto was all conference in baseball and football; where he led the team in rushing as a sophomore and as a senior defensive end was captain of the UCLA team that beat Michigan State in the 1966 Rose Bowl. Pat Carter (born August 1, 1966) is a former American football player, active from 1988 to 1998. After graduating from Florida State University, Carter played tight end for the Detroit Lions, the Los Angeles and St. Louis Rams, the Houston Oilers, and the Arizona Cardinals. Pat Carter entered his third NFL season with Head Coach Rod Marinelli’s coaching staff. Adam Gase
Adam Joseph Gase (born March 29, 1978) is a former American football coach in the National Football League (NFL). He came to prominence as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos from 2013 to 2014, whose offense set the NFL record for points scored in 2013 and helped the team reach Super Bowl XLVIII. Michael Martz (born May 13, 1951) is an American football coach. Thomas J. Lewand is a Detroit-area business leader and a former executive for the Detroit Lions. The son of lawyer and Detroit economic development leader F.
