The 2007 CIS Men's Final 8 Basketball Tournament was held March 16–18, 2007. It was held for the last time at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Canadian Interuniversity Sport
U Sports (stylized as U SPORTS) is the national sport governing body of university sport in Canada, comprising the majority of degree-granting universities in the country. Its equivalent body for organized sports at colleges in Canada is the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Some institutions are members of both bodies for different sports. The Acadia Axemen and Axewomen are the men's and women's athletic teams that represent Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Mark McLaughlin (basketball Player)
Mark McLaughlin (born 2 December 1975) is a Scottish former professional footballer. Since turning senior in 1999, McLaughlin has played over 100 games for both Clyde and Hamilton Academical. He has also played for Greenock Morton and Dumbarton. Career McLaughlin, a defender, began his career at junior club Arthurlie before moving to Clyde in 1999. Clyde McLaughlin made his debut with Clyde in a 3–1 win away from home against Stenhousemuir. On 7 October 2000 he scored his first senior football goal away to Alloa Athletic at the Recreation Park Alloa's home ground and only two weeks later he scored in a 2–2 draw against Ross County at Broadwood in the Scottish Football League First Division. Osvaldo Jeanty (born August 1, 1983) is a Canadian basketball coach and former professional basketball player. He is one of the all-time greats of the Carleton University Ravens men's basketball team and a member of the Ravens' Hall of Fame. Jeanty was named ''CIS male athlete of the year'' in 2006, and ''CIS basketball player of the year'' in 2006 and 2007. He also played on Canada's men's national team. Upon graduation, he spent six years playing professionally in Germany, Morocco, Romania and in the NBL Canada. He retired from professional basketball in November 2013. Aaron Rene Doornekamp (born December 5, 1985) is a Canadian-Dutch professional basketball player for Iberostar Tenerife of the Liga ACB. He was one of the greatest players in the history of the Carleton University Ravens men's college basketball team. Doornekamp is also a member of the senior Canadian men's national team. At a height of tall, he can play at both the small forward and power forward positions, with power forward being his main position. University career Doornekamp was named CIS Men's Basketball Player of the year, and OUA Male Athlete of the Year, in 2008. Carleton Ravens
The Carleton Ravens are the athletic teams that represent Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. The most notable sports team for Carleton is the men's basketball team. In men's basketball, the Ravens have won 16 of the last 19 national men's championships, which is more than any top division college in Canada or the United States. The Ravens went on an 87-game winning streak from 2003 to 2006. They also had a 54-game home winning streak. The Ravens finished 2nd in the World University Basketball Championships in 2004. Halifax Metro Centre
Scotiabank Centre (formerly known as Halifax Metro Centre) is the largest multi-purpose facility in Atlantic Canada, located in the heart of downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The main entrances to the building are located on Brunswick Street, at the corner of Duke Street and Carmichael Street, at the foot of Citadel Hill. The Ottawa Gee-Gees are the athletic teams that represent the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. The Gee-Gees won the national football championship, the Vanier Cup, in 1975 and 2000, while also appearing in the game in the 1970, 1980, and 1997 seasons.
