Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. The Lions are one of the most successful AFL club of the 2000s, appearing in four consecutive Grand Finals from 2001 to 2004 and winning three premierships ( 2001, 2002, 2003). They play home matches at the Gabba, which was also the site of their offices and training facilities until moving these to Springfield Central Stadium in Ipswich in 2022. Subiaco Oval (; nicknamed Subi) was a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Subiaco. It was opened in 1908 and closed in 2017 after the completion of the new Perth Stadium in Burswood. Subiaco Oval was the highest capacity stadium in Western Australia and one of the main stadiums in Australia, with a final capacity of 43,500 people. It began as the home ground for the Subiaco Football Club and from the 1930s onward was the home of Australian rules football in Western Australia. Tim Clarke (Australian Rules Footballer)
Tim Clarke (born 2 April 1982) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He currently works as a coach for Carlton Football Club. Playing career Hawthorn Football Club He was educated at The Geelong College. Tim Boyle (Australian Footballer)
Tim Boyle (born 28 January 1984) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League. His career was plagued by injuries. Originally from Leopold Football Club and the Geelong Falcons, Boyle attended Bellarine Secondary College and was drafted by Hawthorn at the 2002 AFL Draft. In 2004 he broke his leg in a freak pre-season training drill injury, and in 2005 a torn hamstring limited him to just three games. In 2006 Boyle again struggled to feature, managing just two senior games. Boyle performed better in 2007, playing 20 games and kicking 32 goals as a "third tall" forward. Lance Franklin (born 30 January 1987), also known as Buddy Franklin, is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Robert Copeland (born 26 May 1981) is a former Australian Football League footballer for the Brisbane Lions and former captain of the Aspley hornets in the NEAFL. He is a dual premiership winner (2001, 2003) and was delisted in 2008. Jed Adcock (born 15 November 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer and current coach who played for the and in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jason Roe (born 13 March 1984) is an indigenous and former Australian rules football player for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL).
