Basketball Cup (Netherlands)
The Basketball Cup, formerly the NBB Cup ( nl, NBB-Beker), is an annual cup competition for Dutch basketball teams organised by the Basketball Nederland. Every team in the Netherlands can participate by signing up for the preliminary rounds. Professional basketball teams from the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) enter the tournament in the fourth round. From 1977 until 1990 professional teams were not allowed to participate in the competition. The tournament is organized in a knock-out format, with quarter- and semi-finals being two-legged series while the final is played in a single game. Heroes Den Bosch and Donar are the two clubs with the most cup titles, as both have a total of 7 titles. During the 2020–21 season, the tournament was not played and was replaced by the DBL Cup, featuring only the twelve DBL teams. Chris Carrawell
Chris Carrawell (born November 25, 1977) is a retired American professional basketball player who is best known for his All-American college career at Duke University. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach under Jon Scheyer. High school career Born in a rough inner city neighborhood in north St. Louis and growing up without his father (he saw him for the first time in 1999), Carrawell attended high school at Cardinal Ritter College Prep in St. Louis. Among his teammates were future NBA players Loren Woods and Jahidi White. In four years on the Cardinal Ritter varsity, he led the team to an overall 80–13 record, including a three-year undefeated streak at home. As a sophomore he posted averages of 19.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 5.5 steals and 2.8 blocks per game. Ton Boot
Antoine "Ton" Boot (born October 16, 1940) is a Dutch retired professional basketball coach and player. Boot is viewed as one of the best Dutch coaches ever, because of his 14 national titles in the Netherlands. The Dutch newspaper ''De Volkskrant'' named him the best Dutch sports coach of the 20th century. Playing career In 1958 Boot won his first Dutch championship with DED Amsterdam. After that he won the national title another four times, in 1961, 1964 and 1965 with The Wolves Amsterdam and five years later with Blue Stars. In December 1959, Boot scored 53 points in a game against Monark, which was the all-time scoring record in the Dutch Basketball League until 1979, when Tony Parker Sr. scored 63 points. Nick Oudendag
Nick Oudendag (born 23 April 1987) is a Dutch former basketball player. Standing at , he played as center. During his career, Oudendag was a member of the Netherlands national team. Professional career He has played most of his career with the Dutch team Matrixx Magixx, as he had 5 different stances with the team from Nijmegen and Wijchen. In September 2014, Oudendag signed a contract with the Bosnian team KK Igokea. However, he was released quickly. In January 2015, he signed a contract with the German ProA team ETB Wohnbau Baskets. Ransford Brempong
Ransford Brempong (born July 22, 1981) is a former Canadian National Team member and professional basketball player for the Fraser Valley Bandits of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He currently works as the colour commentator for the team. He also runs WCT Hoops which is a basketball organization that offers high level training and development for athletes in high school. Seamus Boxley
Seamus Boxley (born September 21, 1982) is a former American former professional basketball player. Boxley played the power forward position. He played college basketball for Portland State, and after that spent time playing professionally in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Ukraine and Belgium. Career On July 2, 2013 Boxley signed with BC Goverla. His contract was dissolved in March 2014 because of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution. For the 2014–15 season Boxley signed with the newly formed Belgian team Limburg United. On March 24, 2015, he extended his contract with Limburg for one more season. However at the end of the season he left Limburg. On July 8, 2015, he signed a one-year deal with Spirou Charleroi. After the 2015–16 season, Boxley retired. Assist (basketball)
In basketball, an assist is attributed to a player who passes the ball to a teammate in a way that leads directly to a score by field goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the basket. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw. Rebounds in basketball are a routine part in the game; if a shot is successfully made possession of the ball will change, otherwise the rebound allows the defensive team to take possession. Rebounds are also given to a player who tips in a missed shot on his team's offensive end. A rebound can be grabbed by either an offensive player or a defensive player.
